Mrs. Charles Jet was matron of honor. Walter Perschke, Jr., eldest brother of the groom, was best man. ^Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception for • fifty guests was held at a north side hall, after which the bridal couple left for a three day honeymoon at a Wisconsin hotel resort. The newly-weds will make their home on Nippersink Creek in Fox Lake. Congratulations and best wishes for a happily married Mr. and Mrs. Perschke. Carol's maternal grandmother, of Florida was among the family niembers who attended the wedding. Mrs. Roy was here for a total of two weeks, most of which time was spent at her son's (Herb Anderson's) home. Sideline: Mary Anderson caught Carol's bouquet !\t the second throw. Lois caught it the first time! Lucky Ladies . . . meeting this Wednesday, June 23, at the Kennebeck home (4209 North Dennis Blvd.) at 8 p.m. Come along and bring a guest. Just for fun. Cards or reasonable facsimilie. Ognib, anyone? McHenry High Graduates On the cool, calm evening of June 10, the 272 graduates of McHenry high school received their diplomas under open and clear skies. The football field was overflowing with spectators: relatives and friends. Mike Major andi Johnny Rau were among that large academic group that looked so impressive in caps and gowns. Following the ceremonies Mike and friend, Mary Larkin, attended not one but two parties given by other graduates in the class. A very fun night. Johnny Rau. was very happily surprised to have his seventy- eight year old Grandma Rau come out for the commencement exercises.. She and a few other relatives joined the Raus for a simple celebration afterwards. Being a linker, Dad of course made Johnny's cake and topped it with a wise old owl holding a diploma. Very a propos: Since Johnny hopes to be a teacher, he's acquired the nickname, "Professor". After a hard summer of^ working to make tuition for the fall semester, Mike will attend the Allied Institute of Technical Trades . and Johnny has been accepted at Wisconsin State College in Whitewat er. Congratulations, boys,, and the l)est of luck in your future. Johnsburg Graduates In their red caps and gowns the eighth grade graduates of Johnsburg created a colorful stage, set off by a bank of peonies in their burst of bloom at the Johnsburg School gym on the evening of June 8. Ted Bierchen, Jr., Elaine Fail, Teddy Jost, and Kenny Roy were among the twenty-plus students who were awarded their diplomas. Besides having merited the Kiwanis awards, Ted Jost and Elaine Fail were cited for being members of the patrol: Ted for two years and Elaine for six years. Elaine also was presented with an honor award, by Mr. Bush, for ranking fifth in her class. Congratulations to each of you, and especially to bright and beautiful Elaine. A ^eco]>ti6n was held in the adjacent room, following the ceremonies. In the weeks preceding their graduation, several parties were held as well as a Semiformal dance at the school, for all the graduates' and ' their parents. Very complete, commencement. St. John's Graduates The graduates of St. John's school received their diplomas during the 8 o'clock Mass on the beautiful morning of Juno 6. All were present b&t one: -^arry Kayler confused the time by one hour, so arrived just in time to be handed his diploma! Among the graduates were Neil Davis, Candy Kobus. and Late Larry. Congratulations to each of you. After the Mass the Kayler family celebrated the event(s) by going out to breakfast. For that, Larry was on time. Candy Kobus looked very lovely in her blue dress of chiffon- and lace, and had just as lovely a day. Her paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles from the Chicago area -- numbering a total of thirty guests attended the buffett dinner that afternoon. Neil Davis also was honored with some thirty guests, but hardly knew it. He was, in bed most of the day! His complaints of not feeling well the previous day went by with little notice--'till Sunday when he had a fever and had to take to his bed in spite of the festivities. Real Neil. His guests included his paternal grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and the Bute and the Anderson families. IT'S NEW in McHenry HENNY PENNY FABULOUS CHICKEN 3815 W. But in spite of the intermittent showers and the dampening effect of some cancellations, Jim Farley's graduation party turned out well on the afternoon of June 6. 7-- / ' Contributions to the Fair And its hi. ho, the fair. Each year the Estates adds more to the annual Country Art Fair being held this weekend at the Junior High in McHcnry. More what? More man houi-s of labor. Mote persons who put in those hours. More exhibitors. And more pieces of art. Cecil Kanter is again this year the chairman of the photography section in which he and Ron Siepman will exhibit. Favorite Husband (one Jerome Olscn) is again chairman of the hanging committee (while this reporter has been an art widow). This year Florence Kelso and Norma Gunn will help hang the show -- and not in the usual slang sense, unless .things really get desperate'! But seriously: A commendable representation from this" small area. Hi ho. The Fair. Sissy's Here! Mr. Stork finally made it! After some very turbulent months the ole bird showed up much later than anticipated, keeping whole flocks of people on edge. Cynthia Lynne Schellc arrived at Woodstock Memorial hospital on Tuesday, June 8. wrapped in a blushing pink 7 lb. 5V2 oz. bundle. Gean and Ron couldn't be more pleased, and should you ask three year old Steven what his new sister's name is he'll say, "Sissy." Congratulations, Gean and Ron. Lovely family. Spring Formal In a powder blue full length gown which matched her date's powder blue sports car, Lil Kelso was vision of loveliness leaving for the Elgin Junior College Spring formal. Bob Kelso was a picture of the latest fashion in his rented tux: all too tight and all too short! That's trend. Both couples had a splendid evening at their first college formal which was a dinner held at the Olde Orchard Country club on the evening of June 5. Welcome Home . . . Jim Stevens.
