Botanical Gardens Visited By Club The McHenry Garden Club held its June meeting in the form of a field trip to the Botanical Gardens, Whitnall Park, Hales Corners, Wis. ThN was combined with a picnic lunch and a short business meeting to finalize plans lor I he approaching card party. The Crystal Lake flower show was very good to. club members in that individual entries resulted in adding to this season's ribbons with four blue, three red and two white. Gray and daughter, Kathy, of McHenry, enjoyed a visit to Sarasota Jungle Gardens while vacationing on Florida's Lower West Coast. Here the visitors mingle with flamingos and other rare and unusual wild fowl from every continent, which roam freely in these world-famous gardens. Also of interest in Sarasota Jungle Gardens are thousands of tropical plants, many of which are beautifully colored, huge Royal Palms bordering dense jungle trails, and brilliantly colored macaws and cockatoos which pose with visitors for pictures. Women's Society Meets At Engdahl Barn Members of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Community Methodist church will meet at the Engdahl barn, 509 N. Green street, on Thursday, July 15, their regular meeting day. They will assist with arrangements for the rummage sale to be held on July 16 and 17. Each member is asked to bring a sack lunch. Hans became i he bride of Mr; James E. Nicholls. Rev. Ernest Carder 'officiated at the service before an altar decorated with pink roses. Roses and stock were placed at the pews. John Marco, accompanied by Kathy Ruth, sang "The •Lord's Prayer" and "I'll Walk with God." Miss Hans is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hai rv H. Hans of 1503 W. Lincoln Road, Mc Henry, and the groom is the •son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nicholls of 3550 Osborne Boulevard, Racine, Wis. The radiant, dark haired bride wore a satin chapel sweep gown, with sculpt ored neckline, fitted bodice, bracelet fitted sleeves, adorned with pearls and pearl teardrops. An imported alencon mantilla chapel length veil and satin bow graced the back of the semibell skirt. She wore a matching alencon mantilla veil and carried a bouquet of white gardenias and light pink roses with green foliage. Attending the bride were Cheryl Witt rock of McHenry. as maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Susan Sappenfield, Racine, Wis., Judy Gregory, McHenry, Mrs. J. Wesley Blackwell, Bronxville. N. Y., Sandra Boice, Clarendon Hills, and Mrs. Charles Holt, St. Paul, Minn. Lee Ann Stephenson of West Bend, Wis., was the flower girl. The attendants were gowned in white schiffle, embroidered organza over pink luna taffeta, fashioned in floor length empire style. They carried matching umbrellas adorned with light pink roses. In their hair they wore crowns of pink roses and ivy. Serving as best man for the groom was George Jiracek of Madison. Wis. The other male attendants were Steven Nicholls, Racine, Wis., James Hans, Harry P. Hans and Edwin C. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Hans was attired in a pale yellow-antique silk floor length gown and wore a gardenia corsage. Mrs. Nicholls chose a mint green floor length dress adorned with white beading at waist and wore a corsage'of green cymbidiums. A reception for 300 guests was held at the Lake Forest academy. WONDER LAKE COUPLE HONORED ON ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Edward Motulewicz of Wonder Lake were honored Saturday, July 3, on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. The surprise dinner" was held in a Chicago retaurant with about forty relatives in attendance. The hostess for the lovely party was Miss Casey Trzesniewski, a sister of Mrs. Motulewicz. A two tier wedding cake was a feature, of the delicious meal served. The happy couple received many gifts including a centerpiece made from silver dollars. Jeanne Trzesniewski and Edward Motulewicz were married in Chicago July 3, 1940, at St. Rose of Lima church. Their attendants were A1 Trzesniewski and I^eona Sobiera.j Poremski. They have been residents of Wonder Lake for the past sixteen years and are parents of three children, a daughter. Joyce, (Mrs. Jack Yegge) of Wonder Lake and two sons, Wayne and Mark, at home. They have one grandchild, Jeffrey Yegge. Bernard Tonyans Wed 50 Years Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Tonyan observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on June 26 starting with attendance at Mass at 10:30 at St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg. Their nephew, Rev. Fr. Raymond Hettermann. of Rock Falls, read the Mass. The c< uple renewed their marriage vows. A brunch was held for sixty people at the community hall and later a dinner was served | to 200. Open house followed | after 8 p.m. and featured a i mock wedding. Bernard Tonyan and Rose Williams were married June 16, 1915, at St. John's church.
