Jack will be appearing Friday, Saturday and Sunday along with many professional cowboys in the second annual Wauconda Rodeo in Wauconda. Six classic rodoo events are scheduled including dangerous wild Brahma bull riding. Wauconda takes on a western flavor again this year when the annual WaiVonda Rodeo takes place 011 July 9, 10. 11. Last year's R.C.A. (Rodeo Cowboy Association, Inc.) rodeo held in Wauconda was the first, professional rodeo ever held jji this area. Though the rodeo is only one year old in Wauconda, it already has become, known as one of the best attractions of its type in Northern Illinois. Tho. rodeo committee of the Wauconda Chamber of Commerce, sponsors .of the event, reported that new, improved lighting wi'i be installed for the two evening performances on Friday and Saturday, and that, the seating and public address system are also improved. ! The evening performances Friday and Saturday are at 8 p.m.- and the Sunday performance will be at 2 p.m. at the Wauconda American 4-Jt 11 ewA A new reporter, Laura Westgard, has been elected by the Buzy Bees 4-H Club to replace ^JVTelody Iverson, who has moved away. All who had not given demonstration gave them at the 4-H meeting June 24. July 16 was selected for the 4-H picnic to be held at a beach in Wauconda. It was decided -that everyone would bring their own lunch and two girls bring Kool-aid. Debbie Nelson from California was visiting us at our last meeting. We were glad to have her as our guest. Cookies and Kool-aid were served. Field. Advance sale tickets Legion are now on sale at Wauconda Landowners may apply now for their special deer hunting permits. A landowner or tenant who lives on farm or forest land located in a county open to deer hunting is entitled to one free deer permit, valid only on the property where the deer hunter resides. Free permits will be issued until the season begins.. The 6-day shotgun deer season is divided into two portions. The first is from Nov. 19 through Nov. 21, and the second is from Dec. 3 through Dec. 5. Only Illinois residents may hunt deer. The bow and arrow season for deer will be from Oct. 1 through Nov. 15 and from Nov. 24 through Dec. 31, except Nov. 30 through Dec. 6, inclusive, _the Illinois Department of Conservation has announced. St. Clair, Madison, Cook, Will, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties will be closed for bow and arrow deer hunting. All other Illinois counties will be open for bow and arrow deer hunting. Illinois residents applying for shotgun deer permits should forward the following information to: 111. Dept. of Conservation (Deer), 106 State Office Bldg., Springfield, 111. 1. Name 2. Address 3. Age 4. Height 5. Weight 6. Color of eyes 7. First and Second choices of county desired 8. Permit fee of $5.00 (check, draft, or money order must accompany application). For those interested in this year's special teal season -- Any hunter who applies for a permit to hunt teal during the special season in early fall will get a permit if his application is received before Aug. 1. Permits will not be mailed to hunters before Sept. 1. Since anyone who applies will receive a permit, no letters of confirmation will be mailed to the applicants. Blanket permits will not be issued to duck hunting clubs. Each club member must apply for his own permit. In addition to the special permit, each hunter must have a valid Illinois hunting licensc and a 1965 Federal "duck" stamp in his possession when hunting teal. The season for blue-winged and green-winged, teal has been set for Sept. 18 through Sept. 26. The daily bag limit is four teal and the possession limit is eight teal, except that on the first day of the season both limits are the same, four teal. In the application the hunter must state his name, address and county of residence. If he has a blind on any public water managed for duck hunting by the Department of "Conservation, he should include the name of the area and his blind number. Robson of Crystal Lake, both for three violations. Probation permits were issued to Clifford L. Ganschow and Maurice Wilson of Woodstock and Hug!) Herndon of 3210 Park Drive, Wonder Lake. shell. Director Stan Vycital announces that George Freund, Jr., will do the vocals this week. He will sin'g "Up a Lazy River", and "Hello Dolly". The eighteen member stage band will include among their selections, "Begin the Beguine", "I'm in the Mood For Love", "Penthouse Serenade", "Latinette", "Swingin' Easy", and "The Pink Panther". FARM SERVICE PLANT HOLDS OPEN HOUSE A summertime jubilee to welcome friends and to offer customers extra values during an open house is planned at McHenry by McHenry FS, Inc., Stanley Steagall, manager. announced. The jubilee will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30. p.m. on Thursday, July 15, at McHenry FS facilities on Waukegan road in McHenry. Farmers and their families are invited to visit with state FS personnel who serve customers in the eastern part of McHenry county. A free chicken barbecue din-, ner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Steagal said. Jim Tharpl new manager of the McHenry FS facilities at McHenry, will be present to greet visitors. So also will these FS specialists from the Bloomington headquarters of FS: Burl Satterfield, feed products; Sam Foster, petroleum products and agriculture chemicals; and Bob. Hopping, plant food. Steagall and Earl Kingman, sales manager for McHenry FS, will be among those ready to welcome visitors as farmers call to inspect the facilities ovyned by the company formed through the merger of two well-known county cooperatives. Local personnel who have served the FS territory for many years include Danny Miller and Jim Johnson, petroleum products, and Ed Condon, plant food and livestock feeds. ON' DEAN'S LIST Gary Charles Vycital, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vycital, 3413 W. Waukegan Road, McHenry, is one of 160 College of St. Thomas students appearing on the dean's honor list for the 1965 spring semester. A student whose average for the semester is 3.25 or higher is placed on the list. Vycital, a sophomore majoring in math, is a 1963 graduate of Marian high school. Brazil and Spain are each equi-distant from Dakar, West Africa. CHORAL GROUP NAMES OFFICERS; HOLDS REHEARSALS At the recent annual meeting of the Northern Illinois Choral Association, Raymond W. Peirce of Crystal Lake was unanimously re-elected as president for another term. Mr. Peirce, a long-time resident of Crystal Lake, has served as president of the Choral Association since its formal organization over a year ago. Assisting Mr. Peirce in the position of vice-president will be Robert R. Hilgoe, also of Crystal Lake. Re-elected for the coming season were Mrs. Marian Ackerman as treasurer, Mrs. Ruth MacKusick as secretary, and Dr. R. S. Loewenherz as music chairman. Co-chairmen were elected tohead the membership committee this season. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wallace, both members of the chorus, will work together as membership chairmen. Handling the technical jmd mechanical details of programming will be George Spirrison. Mrs. Richard Denker, a member of the chorus and former soloist with the Choral Association, will handle publicity for the coming season. ans.c holdg The executive board is pleased to announce that Mrs. Russell T. Griffith has been reappointed as musical director of the Northern Illinois Choral Association, and that the first concert for the 1965-66 season will be given Sunday, Dec. 5. Summer rehearsals for those chorus members who are able to attend will be held starting Monday evening, July 12, in the choir room of the First Methodist Church of Crystal Lake at 8:00 p.m. Regular rehearsals will be held on Monday evenings, beginning soon after Labor Day. RECEIVES GRANT Grants totaling $3,593,484 for mental health clinics, day centers for the, mentally retarded and other community mental health projects have been awarded by the Illinois Department of Mental Health for the fiscal year starting July 1. 80 ENROLLED IN SUNDAY SCHOOL CHURCH PROGRAM Eighty children have enrolled in the Sunday School program of Shepherd Of The business places. Hills Lutheran Church. In addition, approximately sixty-five adults participation the adult discussion group. The children used their new school facilities for the first time Sunday. A special feature of the education room is the moveable classroom partitions. The partitions are wall size, containing chalk boards and tack boards for each class. The same partitions can be used as banquet tables. The adult discussion group meets each Sunday over coffee to a "talk back" on the day's sermon.
