AUG. 31 William Roeder, our new p r i n c i p a l a t t h e R i n g w o o d School, has announced that on Monday, Aug. 30, school will begin at 9 a.m. with a short session. Book rentals and insurance fefes may be paid on Monday, and school will begin on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with.the full day of school. The teachefs "for the grades are as follows; first and secfind, Mrs. Arline London; third and fourth, Mrs. Van Landuyt; fifth and sixth, Mrs. Luana Lumber; and seventh and eighth, William Roeder. Wilis Softball League The Ringwood 12" softball team won the league's first trophy, at Genoa City last week. The trophy is on display at the local garage along with others won during the previous years. This week, the boys are playing in the playoffs. The results will be in next week's column. Going Away Party Mrs. Anna Shadle entertained a group of ladies for cake and coffee in honor of Mrs. Belva Sebastian who is moving from the Ringwood area on Sept. 1. After the election, the M.Y.F. left for Hebron, where they watched the Senior High M.Y.F. Jose a "close" game to Hebron with a score of 23 to 8. Robin Fossum, Reporter Here 'N* There Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walkington and family, and Ben Walkington attended funeral services lor Gilbert Walkington, son ot the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walkington of Libertyville, who was killed in an accident at Alexandra,^ Va., on Aug. 15. The Rev. Jay Walkington conducted the funeral services last Thursday at Libertyville. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Low attended the funeral services, lor Doris' grandmother, Mrs. Marbel E. Taylor, who passed away Friday evening at -the, McHenry hospital. Services were held from the George Justen and Son Funeral Home with burial in C o r y d o n, Iowa, on Monday morning. Deepest sympathy is extended to Doris and Walt. Mr. and Mrs. David Walkington and daughter, Lori, from Fullerton, Calif., are spending some time visiting relatives in the area.
