Thursday# October 7, 1G65 WONDER LAKE HEWS MARY LOU HARTOO Q5S-7176 JACK RUSSELL SUFFERS ATTACK AFTER ACCIDENT It probably seems to you that I write a lot about the Russell family but so help me I never knew any family who has so many things happen to them. Only a few weeks ago I wrote of the occasion when both of •their cars and the car of a friend were all involved in accidents on the syme weekend, all of them when the owners of the cars were not involved. A week later someone ran into •Jack's car while it was parked in the parking lot at work and rieglecte$. to leave their name (naturally). Then to round out the month we were with them in Lake Geneva last Sunday night and gtiess • what happened? You're right! They left about 10 minutes before us and in the center of town -- out of a parking space some women backed right out into them. This time the front of the car was pushed in and due to the impact Jack Russell suffered a mild heart attack. He was taken by the rescue squad to the VVoonstock hospital. He is back home now and is feeling fine again but I think the car has finally been retired. At the time of the accident I never appreciated our own rescue squads here at the Lake so much. When something happens. around here the rescue squad Jgets ' there in a matter of minutes. At the scene of the accident we waited over an hour for the doctor and rescue squad to arrive, and it was right in the center of town. Tune in next week for the next episode of "It's So Peaceful in the Country". Kay was in quite a panic when she came out of the store and discovered him gone - but sincc he had his name tag on his collar some very kind person picked him up and brought him home again. Maybe he'll think twice next time. It's a big world for such a tiny dog. Best Wishes To Sally Russell and Jerry Gayeski on their forthcoming marriage. Dogs Dogs and More Dogs Dogs, Dogs and More Dogs extra money to spend on your dog for running loose? The courts are placing a heavy fine on the owners of the dogs running loose. There have been several children bitten by the dogs. To me it's about time something is done about all the dogs running all over the countryside. If each dog owner would either keep his dog fenced in or tied up the stray dogs could be picked up and we wouldn't have to worry about children being bitten by a dog. So if you don't want a ticket and have to pay a heavy fine keep your dog fenced up or tied up and not running all over the countryside. Horses I have; had complaints about young people riding horses on Lily Lake road and riding in front of cars as close as they can. Parents please explain to your children that' cars can not stop on a dime and it is not right for anyone to dare a driver of a car. Brakes are known to fail without the driver knowing it. One of these times some9ne is going to get hurt or killed because of this so called daring game to the kids riding the horses. Welcome The welcome mat is out to Bill and Bar Tyree and children, Dean, Mary, Susan, Lorrie, Jackie and Bob. The Tyrees have moved from Madison, Tenn., to our community. But in a minute someone will come along for a shine. Johnny will have a dime, bright and inviting, lying in his palm. What's he going to do with that dime? As he sits In the sm» visions dance in his mind. He could buy candy, ice cream, a new magazine. He could even save it for Sunday School •.. but then what good could a dime do. Suddenly Johnny remembered a Sunday School lesson. Jesus had told how precious was the penny offering of a poor widow. Next Sunday Johnny proudly dropped his dime in the offering plate. Johnny's gift wasn't very much. It won't do a great deal to help the Church meet its financial needs. The important thing is: Jt helped Johnny!
