They took the long way home with brief visits to Texas, Arizona and Arkansas before making their way back to McHenry. As soor as they got back, they were of again to visit with relatives in Delavan and Aurora. Now that they're back to work again, they can recuperate for more ventures and adventures. Cathy Humann * celebrated her twelfth birthday with vim and ^vigor. Holly Koehl, Cathy Elliott and Jane Miller and the Humann girls, Donna, Mary Beth, and Meg, went skating with her at thie lake and returned to supper and hot chocolate and birthday cake supervised by little Barb. Finding themselves in possession of extra energy they worked it off with a record session before calling it a night. Happy birthday to my big kid. Get-well wishes to Jim Mc- Enery who is. back at McHenry hospital. Do hope you're back home soon, ready and raring to go again. Happy anniversary to my cohort, Barb, and her hubby, Ron, on their thirteenth year of togetherness. They marked the occasion with Marv and Shirley George by going up to Wilmot for. a steak dinner. Glad to report that Mary Lou Wilkins is back home and feeling A-OK. Greg Bartos was the host at a skating party last Saturday, which traveled back and forth between the beach and Bartoses to thaw out. Enjoying the g r e a t s k a t i n g w e a t h e r w e r e Guy Kirafa, Mark Hoffman, Mark Amici, Tom Uttich, Tom O'Brien and John DeCicco. Also taking advantage of the fickle weather were the Hutts who went tobogganing at Hart's Hill in Round Lake. Helping them pull the sled back up that longer way to the top were Dorothy and Ken Schneider and B u z z y and Linda who were fortified for the trek by some of Shirley's good cooking. More tobogganers were Carole and Ray Cynowa, Shirley and Max Koch and Penny and Don Veenhuis who went to Veteran's Acres' Saturday night. After denting the hill for the last time they returned to the Kochs where they were revived with Smuggler's Grog by the fireplace. Terrific way to thaw out providing you remember to turn occasionally! Sunday the fire department boys made a rush trip to Cynowa's to put out a fire in the garage. After the initial shock wore off, Ray managed to put the flames out with baking soda before the truck arrived. So much for that quiet Sunday at home! There will be skating races for all ages and of course hot chocolate to warm the insides. Plain on attending.
