There will be refreshments served and World Series movies shown. All boys between ages 8 and 13 are urged to be on hand and any new boys who have never played in the league before are requested to bring their birth certificate. On Wednesday evening. March 24 at 7:30 p.m. there will be an open meeting for aJU interested parents of the boys in the league. It seems very difficult tp believe that attendance. at these meetings is so poor. We hope that more people will get down to the meeting on the 24th and give the men needed help or suggestions or just be there to leave them know that you are behind them as they try to teach your boy baseball and even more im- , port ant sportsmanship. Remember lo call anyone you know for registration, they may have forgotten and don't get the paper until Thursday, also remember the open meeting on the 24th. Community Saddened Our subdivision was saddened during last week over the deaths of two of its residents. Seaman Apprentice, John L. •Wright, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. LaMarre Wright, lost . his life on Monday in Lake County, Indiana. John was on his way home for a surprise leave from his naval base at Norfolk, Va. John enlisted in ! the navy in July of last year and was scheduled for overseas duty following his leave at home. Besides his parents he leaves three sisters, Joy, Sandra and Cindy. Services were held in Aurora where he was born and interment was at Kaneville, Illinois. On Wednesday afternoon the death of Ray Plucinski came as another shock. Ray was 34 years of age and had resided here for the past eight years. He had his barber shop in Mc- Henry, was a member of the American Legion and Illini Bow- ' men. He leaves behind him his wife, Joanne, and three small youngsters, Steven, Alan and Renee. Requiem mass was sung at St. Mary's church on Saturday at* 11 with burial in the church cemetery following military honors. To the two bereaved families go our very deepest sympathy.. May they rest in peace. Boy Scout Troop 459 Boy Scout Troop 459 meeting of Tuesday, March 9. Our meeting started out by the Indian Dances. The Snake dance was the firs,t to be rehearsed, then the Buffalo dance was practiced. Next the Devil dance was performed. The Comedy Dance was next, finally the Eagle Dance came. Our Indian Dance Team will dance for the Scout-ORama. It will be held May 15, at the county fair grounds. Our project for the Scout:0-Rama is to have our dances on and off during the day. After Mr. Druml's talk about the Dance team and dues we had our nice quiet game; British Bulldog. Our troop is being entered in, the oncoming first aid meet. Because of this our instruction period was devoted to first aid. We tied a hand bandage, a head bandage, learned heat exaustion, how to sterilize a bandage, sunstroke, frostbite, pains in the (Stomach, fractures, shock and artificial resperation. Hutchison Heir Arrives Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hutchison, Jr., proudly announce the birth of-their first son and second heir. Harold Hutchison the 3rd was born at Harvard hospital on March 12, weighing in at 8 lbs., 1V2 ozs. and measuring in at 21 inches. Waiting at home on Willow Lane for young Harold besides his parents is his older sister, Laura, who will be two next month. Hazel Johnson formerly of here is his proud maternal grandmother. May God be good to the entire Hutchison family. Best Wishes are extended to the following members of our subdivision who celebrate very special days during the coming week, Robert Mueller will be 9 on the 19th, Mrs. Lenora Abbott also adds another candle on that date. Several very nice people share the 20th as their natal day, Jo Ann Rizzo will be 14 and Lucille Jones arid Anh Hershberg add another candle. Dorothy and Mel Morgenson celebrate anniversary number 22 on the 20th. March 21 has Wendy Dralle becoming 15, Leah Rode will be 10 and Henry Steven Koehl III will be an active three year ol<3. Another group of nice residents share the 22nd as natal days, they are Marty Apel who will be 10, Mary Murphy, Agnes Prazak and Art Tiffany who all admit to voting age. Pete Casper and Mike Linnane share the 24th as their big day, Mike will bo 16. Steve George enters those wonderful teenage years on the 25th. Kristie Ann made her arrival at Sherman hospital in Elgin weighed a nice 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and was 2OV2 inches long. We had two Cadettes from Troop 41. Cathy Humann and Carol Funk brought cookies and Kool-Aid. The Cadettes taught us games and songs. We closed the meeting with the Friendship Circle. Irv's folks are down in Florida and Dot and Irv joined them. The four Becker children enjoyed visiting with their aunt and uncle Pat and George and cousins Chris and Jeff in Chicago over the weekend. Dennis Kozicki is home on leave from Fort Knox, where he just completed six weeks of basic training. Dennis is in the Army. He was honored at a family dinner on- Sunday. Family members came from Chicago and the King family along with grandma and grandpa Breier who came from Johnsburg were also among the family members enjoying their visit with Dennis.
