Welcome th» Perrys The welcoming committee has greeted Frank and Steph- . Activities over the Holiday The Muellers and son. Robby, attended a wedding for Sandra and Norman Petersen at St. Mark's Church in Chicago and the reception at Andrews House on Saturday, Sandra is Irene's Godchild and niece. Lucille and Marshall Jacobs spent the weekend in Evanston visiting Marshall's , sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gatliff. Edwin 'Corky' Olbinski and Timmy Koleno, who play in the Viscounts band, had a busy weekend playing in Chicago, Milwaukee and McCullom Lake on Saturday* SUnday and Monday and also in the parade held in McHenry. Corky plays the drums and Timmy the horn. One of our newer residents, Lenore Camasta, is in the hospital in Woodstock with pneumonia. We hope by the time this comes out that she is back home and feeling fine again. Mr. and Mrs. K. Schopp attended a dinner and dance given by the Knights of Columbus at the Barrington Country Club on Saturday and enjoyed the evening. * Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hinspater had a 'bunch' of folks in over the weekend for cards and fun. They call themselves the Cousins Club and meet once a month. The Hinspaters put most of them up for the night and had to gather cots and sleeping gear from all over. The Whitneys went to Bensenville for a confirmation party given in honor of Chuck's niece, Janice Whitney, and joined forty-five guests for the celebration. T h e W e t z e l s e n t e r t a i n e d grandma and grandpa Wetzel from Edison Park and Sandi and Tom Ballowe joined the group for a fine dinner made with Dori's own little hands. Two of our ybung men, Glen Tanner and James Geds, will be graduating from high school next weekend. To them and all other graduates we wish the best of luck in their future endeavors. On returning home from the meeting on Thursday Irene and Clare Mueller learned that Clare Is aunt. Bertha Rosga, of Hinckley, Minn., had passed away. Plans were made to leave to enable them to arrive for the funeral on Monday. At a scotch double bowling tournament held last week Art Cicchini and his partner, (we were unable to find out who she was) won a prize and after the games a buffet supper was served to more then eighty persons. and may the .years continue to be good to ybu. Meeting of' the McHenry Shores Club It was agreed by those in attendance at the meeting or rhursday that it was one of the •nost inigorating and interest ing business sessions held to date by the residents of the Shors. Mr. Tennert's report as treasurer noted a gain of almost $600, some of which is earmarked for mosquito abatement. The picnic to be held on July 23 was discussed and next week I will give you more details on this. Mr. Mueller reports that no trespassing signs will be put up at the beach very shortly and are now in the process of being" made. Mr. Harper had a visit with Mr. Miller-about the roads and was told that Mr. Geske had been given the go ahead to take care of them so we sin^ cerely hope to have that come true very soon as the holes are terrible. There will be no meeting in July and August so at least everything is in good shape for the summer. Those of us who were present at the meeting, and it is always the same group, regret the lack of community interest of the other residents who are not interested enough in the activities of their own area to come to a meeting and are hopeful of getting a better turnout. Well folks this is the kind of column we are trying to get every week, keep the news coming in, see you next week. 4- Birthday Greetings Many happy returns of the day to Helen Wolter on June 9, Marie Addante, Philip Brod and Terry Wefzel on June 12, Michael Whetherhult and Diane Flint on June 13, Diane will be 10 years old, William 'Billy' Dostal who will be 10 on the fourteenth, and Albert Simbourger on the fifteenth. For lifting, use leg muscles instead, of back muscles. Bend your knees, when picking up objects from the ioor, instead of bending from the waist. You will tire less if you have good posture as you work. Streamline your home to make it an easier .place to keep clean. Big general housecleaning is never necessary. You caq plan a schedule of things that must be ctene daily, weekly, and monthly. . Don't be guilty of starting a dozen things, only to finjj you haven't tinje to finish any of them before^ the family comes home to dinner. Eliminate that frantic hurrying to get things done '^before company comes." See how the following helpful ways make it easier: Remove surface dirt before there is too much or it becomes embedded; Choose easy-to-clean fabrics that are on the market now; Wall and floor finishes can be such that require minimum care;. Knicknacks and ornaments that serve no real * purpose can be put away in the summer to end clutter, save dusting, washing and. keeping in order; Always look' for the easier ways to get a job done. You will enjoy housekeeping more with the satisfaction of. knowing you are doing it in the most efficient way! Tie a small magnet (t|j$ kind sewn in pot holders) securely with a strong thread. Who doesn't stand gazing into the future, picturing that new house, that graduation day, that wedding ceremony, that deluxe-model car ... the thousand and one dreams that man holds in his heart? We realize that a worthwhile life must contain more than just material satisfactions. Without a confident frame of mind, our future will be nothing but tension and uncertainty. Where can we find this inner feeling of courage that will make things easier for us every hour of every day? Millions of people find it in the Christian faith. The apostle Paul that he was strengthened in everything he did by faith in Christ • • • aadl f&is truth is constantly being rediscovered by men and women urgently in meed of something they can trust.
