It will take place on Sunday, June 19, at 3 in the jmrish hall. Pancake Sapper T^e first potato pancake supper sponsored by the American Legion of Wonder Lake will be h e l d F r i d a y , J u n e 1 7 , f r o m 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The proceeds from the dinner will go for the local Junior Legion Baseball League equipment. The doors are opened to .everyone who would like to enjoy dinner out. Ernest Vogt is In charge of the kitchen. Graduation Parties A combined party honoring Donna and Sandy Raske was held in their home on Sunday, June 12. Sharing in the fun festivities and fine food were their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Raske, their aunts and uncles , Mr. and Mrs. John Gustek, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Raske, Wonder Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Raske, Carpentersville, and guests, Mrs. Connie Ayers, Barry and Ian. Linda Pierce was the guest of honor at a party given for her by her mother, Mrs. Pearl Pierce. While with Connie, they will help her celebrate her "21" birthday ,June 17. Kiwanis News The June 6 Kiwanis meeting was primarily a discussion and planning meeting. Art Lau was selected as delegate to the International Kiwanis Convention that will be held in Portland, Oregon, this coming July. . Jo£ Sullivan, the clubs advisor to the Boy Scouts, informed the members to help locate a new Cub Master for next year. The present Cub Master, Ward Ehredt, will take up duties on the District Council. It was decided that the club would hot sponsor the Little Miss Peanut contest this year. The "Charcoal to Cinders" chefs are planning several "Cook-outs" this summer. Mrs. Horace Wagner was the recipient of the Battle Ax Award. Sunrise Ridge Annnal Meeting All property owners of Sunrise Ridge are invited to attend the annual meeting, June 26, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Highland Shores Community building located at 9005 Woody Trail, Highland Shores. Holmes conferred bachelor's and advanced degrees on a record number of graduates at Dekalb on Saturday, June 4 at Northern's sixty-seventh annual commencement. The children may register by signing a registration book at the library, after which a folder will be issued to each child that has read two books on space. The space permit (inside the folder) will be stamped with a rubber stamp star at each stop. (Threfe' additional books for space station, moon, each planet.) After reaching Mars (eleven books) other planets may be of own choosing. Titles of books read are written in the folder. Book reports are not required but occasionally questions will be asked. The program stresses reading for fun. Children may read any books they like, but will be encouraged to read a variety of books and ones of at least their reading level. > Miss Nellie Doherty, children's librarian will be here Monday .Tuesday and Wednesday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and' will be glad to help children with reading problems and pick out the correct books. SIGNATURES FOR GOVERNOR Illinois' efforts to obtain the site of the Atomic Energy commission's 200 BEV accelerator received another boost when community leaders from the proposed Weston area site presented Gov. Otto Kerner with 6,727 signatures of landowners and residents in support of the site.
