One simple, but effective; cement is concocted just by melting powdered alum in a spoon over a glass flame, then, while still soft, rubbing the melted alum over the edv<es ot the. two pieces you want to stick together, and keep them pressed .together .until .dry. Dishes mended in this way can safely be washed in hot water, too. Q. How can I quickly and easily remove the gummy residue left on my skin or any other surface by adhesive tape? A. With eifher fingernail polish remover or cleaning fluid. Q. How can I;, remedy hard and lumpy sugar? A. By putting it into a covered receptacle in the refrigerator for a few days. This will soften it. Q. How can I scale fish more easily? A. Place the fish in a large pan and pour boiling Water over it, then remove from the hot water quickly and drop into cold water. The scales can then usually be scraped off easily with a kitchen knife or by rubbing. Sometimes just the rubbing of vinegar all over the fish beforehand will make for easier scaling. Q. How can I improve the appearance of my French toast ? A .Your French toast will have a nice brown appearance if ^-teaspoon of sugar is beaten with each egg into which the slices of bread are dipped for frying. Add a little milk also to the dipping solution. Q. How can I cut glass easier and straighter with my glasscutter? A. After wiping clean the path of your cutter on the glass, paint this line with turpentine or any thin oil. Q. How can I prevent rust from forming " c i; my outdoor furniture? A. By keeping the furniture well painted, you'll stave off rust. If you're starting from scratch, coat the i ron first with red lead or aluminum paint, after first removing every trace of rust with a wire brush, steel wool, or emery cloth. If you leave any rust on the iron under the paint, it will go on spreading. Apply two or three coats of ornamental paint. DAIRY JUDGING TEAM IN COUNTY HAS TOP RATING Power FStm-sr...
