The night before their departure, Elsie and Ray were feted at a party attended by twenty people. The couple introduced the "hokey pokey" which went over with a bang. On the homeward leg, the Osterbys were accompanied by Mr. ahd Mrs. Glen Marunde, Sr., who had also been visiting their son in Tok. Busses in the northland are used to transport everything, and for a time a deceased person in a casket wa& part of the cargo. The body was being transported from Whitehorse to Watson Lake and at 3 o'clock one moiling, Ray a# Glen, Sr., and three ether men helped the bus driver bring the casket into a church for burial later that morning! Elsie and Ray commented on the extreme courtesy shown them at all service stations along the way, especially in Canada. It was a bit of . a shock, though, to p?y 72 cents for ONE gallon of gas! Their memories of the , trip will bring theoif joy for years to come. - ft' .• ft* , ^Deepest To Larry Larsen and. other members of his family who are mourning the loss of his mother, Mrs. Signe Larsen, who died in the Valley Hi home, Hartland, last week.
