The couple exchanged .vows at the altar of Christ the King Catho- COUPLE EXCHANGE NUPTIAL VOWS IN JOHNSBURG CHURCH St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Johnsburg was the setting for a lovely wedding on Saturday afternoon Aug. 20, when Miss Ruth Ann Schmitt and Mr. Donald F. Kibbe exchanged nuptial vows. Miss Schmitt is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard N. Schmitt of 3802 N. St. John avenue, McHenry, and the bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kibbe of 132 W. Sunset, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Dording officiated j at the 3 o'clock ceremony in a church decorated with bouquets of white carnations. The bride was charming in a silk organza A-line dress which featured Swiss embroidered lace. It was styled with empire waist, elbow sleeves and boat neckline. A chapel length veil fell from a crown headpiece. Mrs. Richard Hiller acted as matron of honor and bridesmaid was Miss Roberta Donnelly. They wore rayon and linen dresses, with light pink skirts and a darker shade bodice. They were styled A-line, empire, with cap sleeves and boat neckline, featuring t)raids at the bodice and bows in back. Both young women carried pink carnations and red roses. Cindy Rasbaugh was the pretty flower girl. James Thompson, Jr., served as best man, Jerry Freund was groomsman and Henry Freund and Jesse Freund acted as ushers. For Miss Schmitt's wedding, her mother selected an aquac o l o r e d j a c k e t d r e s s w i t h which she wore black accessories and a white tearose corsage. Mrs. Kibbe was attired in an aqua dress and had a similar corsage. A reception for 150 guests followed the ceremony at the Johnsburg Community club at 6 p.m. The newly weds left later for a week at Rockton, 111., and upon their return will reside on Main street, McHenry. The bride graduated in 1965 from M.C.H.S., where her husband received his diploma in 3960. She is employed in the office of Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in Chicago and he is an employee of Metlex Corp. Libertyville. lie church Wonder Lake, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, with Rev. Fr. Allen street, Kalamazoo. The church was decorated with two baskets of glads, and following the wedding the bride placed her bouquet before the altar of the Blessed Virgin. The bride's gown was styled A-line, trimmed around the bodice and sleeves with reembroidered alencon lace. Attending her as maid of honor was Linda Allegrezza of Grand Rapids, Mich., and bridesmaids were Joyce Adent of Sun Prairie, Wis.. Karen Feilen of Elk Grove, 111., Judy Frederick of Wonder Lake, Randi Jenicek of Portage, Wis. and Mary Jane Joosten of Wonder Lake. They were attired in yellow, A-line, floor length dresses, the taffeta topped by lilac sheer, and wore matching flowered headpieces. Martin Murray of Kalamazoo, Mich., served the groom as best man and groomsmen were Brian Allegrezza of Grand Rapids, Mich., Leonard Adent of Sun Prairie, Wis., Michael Anderson of Traverse City, Mich. Ron Hageman and Richard King of Kalamazoo. Small Jolene Hageman of Parchment, Mich., was the pretty flower girl, and Daniel Malo of Wonder Lake, the stately ring bearer. A reception for 300 guests followed the ceremony at the V.F.W. clubhouse in McHenry. The couple left later on a trip around Lake Michigan, with a few days' stop at Mackinac Island. Upon their return theyj will reside in an apartment at | 1105 N. Prairie street, Kalamazoo. The new Mrs. Hageman formerly attended Whitewater university and her husband is a senior at Western Michigan university. "It's really a picnic," Henley continued, "but all you have to bring is your family and. friends." The YR's will furnish hot dogs, buns, charcoal beer, pop and dessert. "Although membership is supposed to be open only to those between the ages of 18 and 35, we welcome anyone with an interest in campaigning this fall or in just talking politics," Henley stated. Henley, an assistant state's attorney, has been club president since Jack Shaffer resigned prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Armed Forces. PLAN "LORD'S CELLAR" T h e R i n g w o o d M e t h o d i s t church will have a "Lord's Cellar" dinner and fellowship of churches early next month. At six o'clock on the morning of Aug. 17, 15 girls and 3 chaperons met at the Farm Bureau building to leave for the Illinois State Fair. Upon arrival at the Fairgrounds, 4-H home economics girls were checked into the dormitory, where they stayed with several hundred girls and chaperones. At 3 p.m. Wednesday the girls representing the couning classes which were held ty in clothing reported to clotheach afternoon. Good grooming. carriage, modeling, accessorizing, and plans for the allimportant dress review were discussed. The dress review for Ihe group of counties of which McHenry county is a part, was held Friday afternoon. The following were selected by judges to attend: Valerie Garrett, Hebron: Fran Donahue, Huntley; Pat McCullough, Harvard; Bobette Adams. Algonquin; Kathleen Hallisy, Hebron; Kathy Lacy, Harvard; Susan Wells, Harvard; and Mary Alice Pihl, Harvard. Five girls represented the county in foods demonstrations. This is another important area in 4-H training. It gives each girl an opportunity to speak before groups while doing a pratical demonstration. Honored For Service The board of directors of the woman's auxiliary to McHenry hospital honored Miss Bonnie Exline of Holiday Hills for out- I standing service. They presen- I ted her with a bracelet with a Candy Striper charm for her service of over 850 hours since she began her volunteer work in October, 1963. Bonnie has been employed in the McHenry hospital business office this summer. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Exline. Miss Mary Ann Meyers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Meyers of Woodstock, has been working as a Candy Striper since May 1963, and during this time has accumulated over 415 hours of service. Mary Ann graduated from Marion Central high school last June and will enter the Convent of the Holy Cross, South Bend, Ind., in September. She has been a very loyal worker and all the girls wish her luck. The next Candy Striper training course will be given in October and applications are now being accepted. To qualify as a C.andy Striper, one must be at least 14 years of age and attending high school. As the P.M.B. team of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church flew to their various homes this week, they left behind the results of the church survey they conducted. The four young people called on 1.700 families in the McHenry area. Three hundred arid thirty three families had no church affiliation. Others showed interest in numerous churches in the community. On Aug. 15 Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bauer and five children arrived from Tulsa, Okla., to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. L. Bauer, at 1511 N. Green street. Sometime later, a call came from Bro. Paul Bauer, S.D.S., from Tanzania, East Africa, advising them that he was at O'Hare airport. Surprised to find him nicely settled at home when they arrived from Detroit were Dr. Ray Bauer, who had come with his wife and three children and Miss Betty Bauer. Bro. Paul has been in Africa for ten years and in that time this is only his second visit home. On Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. N. Bauer and daughter came from Oshkosh and joined others for a picnic in the woods near the home occupied by the Joseph LBauers until less than a year ago. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Bauer and five children and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Steinsdorfer (Mary Bauer) all from McHenry. Sunday afternoon, a family reunion of the Michael Bauer and the Peter M.
