Obituaried JOSEPH WALSH Joseph Walsh, 53, a native of McHenry, died Oct. 26 in Sweeney, Texas, following a heart attack. Son of the late Michael and Johanna Doherty Walsh, he was born here July 11, 1913 and resided his early life in this community. Mr. Walsh was a manufacturer's representative, dealing in janitorial supplies. His home had been in Fort Worth, Texas, since last „June. The deceased served with the Army during World War II. Survivors are three sisters, Mary and Dorothy of McHenry and Mrs. Louis (Eleanor) Young of Waukegan; three brothers, Quentin and Melvin of McHenry aiid a twin, James, of Woodstock; and two daughters, Pamela and Jody, of Woodstock. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Whiting was born March 12, 1912, in the McHenry community, son of Clarence and Mayme Knox Whiting. He was employed for many years as a butcher for Barbian Brothers in McHenry. The deceased was. a veteran of service with the Navy during World War II: He was a member of the local V.F.W. Post, No. 4600 and Legion Post 491. Survivors are four brothers, Lloyd of Elgin, Dr. Delbert of South Elgin, Edmund of Chicago and Clarence of Washington, D.C. The body rested at the Peter M. The deceased was a former director of the Lakes i d e Bridge and Steel company of Milwaukee, and for twenty years was a director of the Alden Mutual Fire Insurance company. Survivors include his widow, Millie; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Tetzloff of Delavan, Wis., and Mrs. Daniel Thomas of Wooster, Ohio; five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Addis Gardner, of Solon Mills and a brother, Duane, of Richmond. Schulz, 44, of Harvard, who died Oct. 26 in Presbyterian- St. Luke's hospital, Chicago. Burial was private. Schulz was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Chicago ^nd spent his early life in McHenry, graduating from the McHenry high school. He was employed for an auto dealer in Harvard at the time of his death. Survivors are his widow, Jane; his father, Paul F. S c h u l z , o f J o h n s b u r g ; t w o brothers, Kenneth and Wesley, both of Chicago; and a sister, Mrs. Savina Rix, of Chicago. His mother and a brother, Paul, preceded him in death. EDWARD HAYDEN Last rites were conducted Friday in White Bear Lake, Minn., for Edward Hayden, 82, of 4813 W. Bonner drive, Lake land Shores, McHenry, who died in Harvard hospital Oct. 26 following a long illness. Burial was in St. Mary cemetery, North St. Paul, Minn. Mr. Hayden was born in 1884 in Minnesota and for he past fifteen years was a real estate salesman with Ladd Enterprises. Surviving are his widow, Marie; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Bonnie) Ladd of Crystal Lake; two sons, Robert J. of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Harlan of Madelia, Minn.; a sister, three half-brothers and nine grandchildren. The body rested at the George R. Justen funeral home until the time of last rites. MARIE HAGEL Mrs. Marie Hagel, 80, of 5008 W. Maple Hill drive, Mc- Cullom Lake, died in Evanston hospital last Saturday night, Oct. 29, after a lingering illness. Her husband, Anton, was at her side at the time of her passing. Mrs. Hagel waa born Sept. 8 , 1 8 8 6 , i n R u s s - P o l a n d a n d came to this country when she was 19. She met and married her husband in Chicago. After retiring from the groc e r y s t o r e b u s i n e s s , t h e couple moved to McCullom Lake in 1952. They had owned their property since 1929 and started building in 1940. The two celebrated their gole n wedding anniversary th a large party at McHenry Country club, June 25, 1960. Visitation waa held at the Corcoran funeral home, Skokie, with services conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial was in St. Lucas cemetery, Skokie. In addition to her widower, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Anne) Blaney, Skolsie; a sister, Mrs. Wanda Dyko, formerly of Chicago and now residing in one of the Chicago suburbs; a brother, Carl Lipke, of McCullom Lake; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He had resided in the Island Lake community for seventeen years. Mr. Lopez was a native of Mexico. WILLIAM MABTKKE William Marticke, 67, of Deltona, Fla., died Oct. 30 at Sanford hospital in Sanford, Fla., following a long illness. Before his retirement two years ago, when he moved to Florida, he was a partner in Marticke ft Nixon, a tire business in McHenry, for about sixteen years. Mr. Marticke was born in Germany in 1899. Survivors are his wife, Miriam; two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Carol) Jepsen of McHenry and Mrs. Barbara (Bambi) Davidson of Palatine. Private services were held Tuesday in DeBary, Fla. Mrs. Jepsen and Mrs. Davidson attended services for their father. Blil Tammeus, left, has accepted the chairmanship of the McHenry County Cancer Crusade for 1967. Arnold May, last year's chairman and the new president of the McHenry county unit of the American Cancer society, made the announcement this week. Tammeus is accepting contributions given to the Cancer society as memorials. Bill Tammeus, a resident of McHenry county for twenty- three yeartf and wellknown for his participation in many community service projects, will head the 1967 Cancer Crusade in McHenry county. Hie acceptance of this big task was announced by Arnold May, Richmond, who is president of the McHenry county chapter of the Ameri c a n C a n c e r s o c i e t y . May headed this fund drive during 1966 and has succeeded Roger Reichert as the county chapter chairman. Many persons inquire about the possibility of making a donation to the American Cancer society as a memorial when someone close to them dies. May said all funeral homes in McHenry county have appropriate cards suitable for this memorial. Additional information may be obtained by contacting May at Richmond. Tammeus was McHenry county farm adviser and a county 4-H leader from 1944 to 1956. He spent 1956 and 1957 in India, representing the University of Illinois in the administration of the U.S. foreign aid program.
