Legals NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PETITION TO ORGANIZE CERTAIN TERRITORY SITUATED IN McHENRY AND BOONE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, INTO A CLASS I JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 10, 1966, a petition was filed with the ILLINOIS JUNIOR COLLEGE BCMMJ, requesting the calling oL^ah election for the purpose of voting for or against the establishment Of a CLASS I JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT in the hereinafter described territory, the proposed district to be authorized to levy tax rates which shall not exceed .07 percent of full, fair cash value, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, for educational purposes, and .03 percent of full, fair cash value as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue for building purposes and the purchase of school grounds, said rates to be the maximum tax rates for education and building purposes. The territory of the proposed Junior College District to be hereinafter described, to wit: All of the territory located and situated in the County of McHenry, State of Illinois, excepting: The East Half (E 1/2) of the West Half (W 1/2) of Section 19, Township 44 North, Range 5, East of the Third Principal Meridian, being in the Township of Marengo; and the West Half (W 1/2) of the Southwest Quarter (SW l/4)of Section 19. The West four (W4) rods of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE- ' l/4), and -the North 34.75 acres of the East Half (E 1/2) of the Northwest Quarter (NW l/4)of Section Thirty (30), all lying within the Township of Marengo, County of McHenry. thence East along the South line of Sections 17 and 16 to the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 16; thence North along the Quarter Quarter section line to the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter lege and made a determination that the proposal to organize the territory' hereinabove described into a Class I Junior College, was in accordance with the prayer of the Petition and was in conformity with a comprehensive Junior college program. Thereafter, the Illinois Junior College Board prepared a report of such action on said Petition containing a statement of the reasons for said decision, and the basis upon which the State Board deemed it possible for the proposed district to provide a desirable two-year college program at reasonable cost, the conditions under wh'ich said operation would be possible, the estimated results of such operation in terms of local taxes, the nature and probable cost of alternative methods of providing adequate Junior College educational opportunities for students in the territory involved and other information helpful to the voters in such territory in voting on the proposition to establish a Class I Junior College District. A copy of said report is now on file in the office of the Illinois Junior College Board and a true and correct copy thereof is on file and available for public inspection in the office of the County Superintendents of Schools, McHenry and Boone Counties, Illinois. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing on the aforesaid petition and on the said report of the Illinois Junior College Board relating to the proposed Junior College District will be held in the Auditorium of the Woodstock Community High School, located at 501 W. South Street, in the city of Woodstock, Illinois, on the 10th day of January, 1967, at 7:30 o'clock P.M.-CST, and at such hearing the Illinois Junior College Board, or a hearing officer appointed by it, shall proceed to hear the petition above referred to, shall present the report of the Illinois Junior College Board, above referred to, and determine the sufficiency of the Petition. At the hearing, the said State Board, or the hearing officer appointed by it, shall hear any additional eVi* dence as to the school needs and conditions of the territory and in the area within and adjacent thereto. At the conclusion of the hearing, the hearing officer, if such hearing shall be before a hearing officer, shall report a summary of the testimony to the Illinois Junior College Board, which said Board shall thereupon determine whether it is for the best interests of the schools within the territory above described, and the edu»- cati<>nal welfare of the students therein, that such proposed Jun-* ior College District be organized and at such time said Illinois Junior College Board shall also determine whether the territory above referred to and described is compact and contiguous for college purposes. Any resident within said territory above described or from any school district affected thereby, may appear in support of said Petition or to object thereto.
