The first ^Christmas of long ago is still in our hearts, though, as a few moments here and there are taken out to reflect on the Lord's birthday. And if somewhere in your busy day you can sit down to your paper, we want to wish you and your families the best Chrsitmas ever. Stork-Gram Anew little deduction was added to the Weber roster with the birth on Dec. 5 of Sharon Ann to Bill and Nancy Weber. She jHJt in her first appearance at Sherman hospital weighing a dainty 6 lb. 14 oz. Brothers Jeff, Steven, and Johnny, and sister Janet, welcomed their new little sister. Girl Scout Troop 320 We opened our meeting with ihe flag ceremony. W e made presents for our mothers. Then we had our treats. The girls that brought the 1 reals were Audrey Preston, Cindy Kamp, Linda Apel and Patti Laursen. Then we ended the meeting with the closing ceremony and retired the Mag. Note: please remember lo bring a plastic shampoo Ixittle or any other plastic bottle that you can squeeze ;ind bring a paint brush. If you have any little jars of paint, please bring them too. There will be a meeting as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Please don't forget to bring your grab-bag gift for the parly on Friday evening and dress warmly for the Christmas caroling. Donna Barwig was the hostess and after treats they sang Christmas songs. The girls brought home their cards and gifts for their parents. Community House Schedule • Wednesday, Dec. 21- Girl Scouts meeting, 6 .30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23 - Boy Scouts, 7 to 8 p.m. Girl Scout Christmas party, 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 - Girl Scout meeting 6:30 to 8 p.m. All cancellations and bookings should be made with Mrs. Joe Rizzo by calling 385-2728. Woman's Club Meeting The meeting for January of the Lakeland Park Woman's club will be held on Thursday Jan. 5, at 8:30 p.m. An interesting demonstration is being planned for that evening. There will 1* a demonstration in the techniques of antiquing furniture and wood. This should be interesting lo the ladies who find more time to do things after the rush of the holiday season is over. Road Assessment Time All property owners in the Lakeland Park area have been billed for an extra road assessment to cover the costs of snow plowing and such other necessary repairs that have been made on the roads in recent days. The due date of this bill was Dec. 1 and although most people have paid, there are still a few outstanding. Please get your money in as soon as possible. Birthday Wishes Happy birthday wishes go lo Nedra Eckhart and Susan S8&-264A Pankiewiez who share Dec. 2.'! as their natal day with Susan becoming 13. On Dec. 24. . Christy Jaenicke will be 10' and Tommy Bockman, Tommy Linnane and Dorothy Lense will all add another year. Christmas day has Pat Spoto doing double celebrating and on Dec. 26 Steve Parisi will be 5 years old. Also to Ruth McMahon who is a patient at St. Alexius hospital in Klk Grove Village, Her room number is 311 for anyone who would wish to send her a card. She will be there during the holidays. Stork-Gram A baby boy was delivered to Ron and Jackie Creutz on Dec. 14 at Sherman hospital in Elgin. Their number two son was named Christopher Michael and weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. and is 19 inches long. The little lad who put in his appearance at 2 a.m. came home with his mom on Sunday just in time to hang his stocking next to brother Tom's. Chris comes equippped with a good amount of doting grandparents. His maternal grandparents are the John Skidm o r e s o f R i n g w o o d . T h e paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Creutz of McCullom Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Grepling of Whispering Hills are his paternal g rea t g randpa rents. Wedding Bells The marriage of Foster Glorch to Miss Linda Evans of Huntley took place on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational! in Huntley. A reception was held after the ceremony in Wonder Lake. The newlyweds will be living in Huntley until spring when they are planning to move back here. Strolling Through the Park - Enjoying a night at the Chicago Stadium where the Blackhawks came up with a winning game last Sunday were Norby and Norb Kwiatek, Billy Ekhart and Jim Wickenkamp. You guys must have brought them luck. A surprise birthday party for Kim Butler's seventh birthday was given her by her folks with five girls enjoying cake and ice cream with her. The girls were, Cindy Braun. Grace Hagerty, and Pam, Mary and Kathy Schooly. Many of our young people and a few parents enjoyed a dinner at the new American Legion hall last Saturday for the Viscount Christmas party. STORE for MEN tor's award. The Osmon family celebrated Jody's fifteenth birthday last Sunday with dinner at home. Guests were Jody's Godfather Jack and his wife Nancy and son Pat Burns. Next year is the big one Jody. A group of carolers from the sixth grade class at Valley View along with their teacher, Mr. Peraino. entertained many families with their lovely Christmas songs last Friday evening. They collected donations for the residents of Dixon along the way and the grand total came to $10.22. After their carolling they returned t(K Patti Arient's house where they were treated to hot chocolate.cake and other goodies. They also had a grab bag and finished the evening with a grand party. Gladys Hafer has recently returned from a train trip to California on which she accompanied her sister-in-law, Elva Jones, of Lake Delavan. Mrs. Jones, who is 80 years young, visited with relatives in Liesure World. The trip of several weeks duration was at an end. After her return. Art and Gladys got right back in the swing of things .and attended a golden wedding anniversary celebration in Elgin for Mr. and Mrs. August Keisler. Ray and .Carol Cynowa attended a party at the Woodstock Moose on Saturday evening given by Ray's conipany. After the ball was over it was pronounced quite a wingding. Lu McEnery entertained the tripoli club in her new home in Elk Grove Village last week. The ladies came in the afternoon and played cards and revealed their secret pals from the previous year. Edna Hountras, Ivy Lezak, Delia Julian. Ruth McMahon, and Ann Herzog were there as was Tom Hountras who spent the afternoon with Jim McEnery. Dinner was served to the group and then the Hountrasses started off for home iust before the evening bridge group appeared. Joining the '^ang from the afternoon were Ruth Chadwick, Ruth Seaholm, Ann Leigh, Louise Dietz and Gayle Laursen. They also told on their secret pals and had an evening of bridge. During the course of the evening Ruth McMahon beramr ill and it was necessary to call the rescue squad to revive her. She was taken to pr. Alexius hospital in Elk Grove Village where she is in oxygen. She will have to remain through thec holidays. Petey and Meg Oakford met Petey's sister, Marilyn Mc- Cullough, in Chicago last Thursday and began their evening with a visit to Santa Claus at a florist which is noted for their spectacular Christmas displays. They toured Santa's home and saw o collection of miniature dolls and rooms depicting Christmas morning. They had dinner at a restaurant and returned to Marilyn's where they stayed the night in order to begin shopping early the next morning. Petey and Meg also visited the company where Petey worked and caught up on all the gossip from the years between. Pam Stoltz celebrated her fifth birthday with Gail and Bobby Hutt and their folks Shirley and Bob and her own family last Friday. She received many gifts and refreshments were jeryfd D o n n a P a m S t o l t z w e r e in Porj^and, Ore., last month for jf visit with Donna's folks ana her two sisters, who make their home on the west coasl. Donna's mom had been in an auto accident and, needed some help so she came to the rescue.o They found the area very beautiful and quite different, and are looking forward to a return visit. Kocheg entertained pari of Max's family last Sunday. Tiny and Bill Brewer and children, and Shirley and Bill Koch and children were dinner guests. Trudy's godparents. Joan and Bill Hardin, . and family also dropped in for a short visit. On Saturday Shirley and lier sister, Ruth, and sister-in-law. Fran, went to Marina City where they were shown the different apartments a n d sights. They lunched in one of the restaurants and really enjoyed the spectacular place.
