After they have dried, rub with hall a raw potato . before polishing, and this will help them to take on a good gloss Q. How ,can I wash a chamois skin? A. Wash carefully in warm soapy water, don't rinse the soap out, and press the chamois carefully on a flat surface to dry. Best not to hang the chamois in the air, since this will usually make it hard and dry. ,, Q. How can I forestall the tarnishing of some of my brass articles? A. With a coat of clear lacquer, being sure that the surface of the metal is clean and free of polish liefore applying the lacquer A second ..coat will provide even greater insurance: Q. Often effective is rubbing theT'surface of the glass with a piece of ha'rd felt that has l>een moistened in water and (lipped into either red or black rouge. Q. How can I make a good job of cleaning the inside of a coffee percolator's vertical tube? A. Use . aman's pipe cleaner. Or, ^fill the percolator with water, add four tablespoons of salt, put the tube in, and let perk for 10 to 15 minutes'. Sb@p In McHenry •-.-i m For Your Information Dear friends, Contrary to much public opinion, the greatest cost in_ providing a funeral service Is not the casket - it is less than 2»% of the funeral fee. Salaries, building, automobiles and other equipment, taxes, utilities, and the expenses of keeping the funeral home and its personnel available 24 hours a day, these total much more than the cost of the casket. Respectfully, McHenry PETER M. JUSTE N A SON FUNERAL inod Ambulance Service 385-0063 ZIQN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (Missouri Synod) 3206 W. Waukegan Road • (Highway 120 West) Rev. Carl A. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilizotion can survive. There are four sound reosons why every person should attend services regulorly and support the Church. They ore: (1) For his ow^sake. (2) For his children's soke. (3) ror the soke of his community and notion. (4) For the soke of the Church itself, which needs his mora) and material support. Plan to go to church regulorly and read your Bible doily. Copyright 1966 Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburg, Va. AN EVE ON THE W@l The fascination of a globe . . . let. the eye roam over the world map . . . notice the different countries and continents . . . try to imagine what life must be' like in each of these places. Yes, every, spot on the globe has its particular need. Sometimes it is a need felt in that one place alone. Yet, in a sense, every place is the same, for all countries are made up of people. And all people have the same basic needs. One of these needs is faith -- faith in a God who also has an eye on our world -- faith in a God who sustains us, and who gives meaning to time and eternity. Your own life has this need. You can answer that need by attending church, and discovering the strength and joy which come through regular worship.
