Approval was given most Insurance Companies effective January I, 1967., by the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Illinois that Homeowners policies will have included a $50.00 DEDUCTIBLE for all losses insured by the policy, except the personal liability section of the homeowners insurance policy. The tremendous number of claims in the under $50.00 class suffered by the Insurance Companies in the past five years has prompted this action. Homeowners insurance rates have been increasing each year and it is hoped this step is one in the right direction and will not necessitate future rate increases. This change applies to policies issured after January I, 1967.
