Jackson, states that grief is a major mental health problem and that funeral directors are obliged to help the bereaved express it. The funeral Is for the bereaved, not the dead, he states. It is essential to rontront reality fully; the body in the easket compels this. The rituals of grief maintained by the church and the funeral service are a kind of community social insurance states Rev. Jackson. Basically, Lincoln was a ample man, his nature as essentially rugged and rustic as the log cabin in which he was bora. His life, from beginning to end, was a hard one, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Yet, throughout terrible trial, he never lost his faith in God. Lincoln wasn't "born religious." Faith came to him the hard way, just as everything else did. But once he had found it, his devotion knew no limit. Most of the great men in our country's history have been devoted. Why? Because experience has shown them that no man can go it alone. That we, all of us, need God's guidance. The place to seek that guidance is in the church of your choice. ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest factor on earth for the building of charocter and good citizenship. It is o storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization con survive. There ore four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (I) For his own soke. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support.
