STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK During the past week's stroll, we found lots of plants peeking up through the ground and watched a flock of birds who had discovered a puddle on their flight. They zeroed in on the tiny puddle and acted like boys at the old swimmin' hole. This must have been their first bath in a long time and they sure did enjoy it. That's ail for the birds! Get-well wishes - to Marie Bernard who is at McHenry hospital and also to Jim Daurio's brother who is very ill in New Orleans. Jim and Ruth Roach and Ray were guests at the wedding, Saturday, of a friend, Edward Schultz of Country Club Estates to Tammy Clendenin at Zion Lutheran church. Take our founder as an example. More than a century ago, he envisioned a new concept of efficient, low-cost mass food distribution. This concept set the stage for the development of today's modern A&P and for today's entire food retailing industry. Similar vision characterizes the current management of A&P: Men who recognize the cost-saving potential of computerized warehousing and ordering. /Nteri who are applying practical automation to rriknufactuHng facilities. * Men who are relocating distribution centers to take advantage of modem transportation and roads. Men who are constantly on the lookout for better, more efficient methods of food handling.
