A new telephone with its Touch-Tone buttons built into the handset has been introduced in McHenry, Stan Jozwiak, Illinois Bell manager, has announced. Called the Trimline telephone, the new model is designed to make calling easier by incorporating the receiver, transmitter and Touch-Tone buttons in a lightweight handset. The phone is also available with a regular dial. With the Trimline phone, the caller brings the dialing mechanism to him. A recall button located below the Touch-tone buttons clears the line between calls so they can be made one after another without reaching to hang up. PLANS FOR CONFERENCE Edward C. Morin, a podiatrist, (foot specialist), of 7709 Oakwood drive, Wonder Lake, will attend the 1967 Midwest Podiatry conference in Chicago April 7 to 9, at the Pick-Congress hotel. The conference, which will be holding its seventeenth annual meeting, has become one of the larger professional conventions in the field of podiatry. ? ih TELLS RETIREMENT A long period of service covering twenty-seven years has ended with the retirement of Mrs. Catherine Weber from employment with the McHenry A & P store. During these many -years she has made hundreds -of friends who will miss the friendly smile with which she greeted customers to the store. During all of the twenty-seven years, she worked with Howard Collins, who recently was transferred to the Woodstock store as assistant manager. ON HONOR ROLL Dennis Schommer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Schommer of 706 W. Peter, McHenry, a history major at St. Joseph's college, Rensselaer, Ind., is among sixty-three students who earned grades of 3.50 or better on the 4.00 system employed at the school. World 1 Of * Pharmacy McHENRY MAN TAKES POSITION IN WASHINGTON Howard Segermark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Segermark, 116 S. Lily Lake road, has recently taken a position in Washington, D.C., with Congressman Ancher Nelsen, Republican from Minnesota. Segermark has taken the post of research asistant to the Congressman in his office in the Longworth House office building, across the street from the Capitol. A 1959 graduate of McHenry * high school and a 1963 graduate of Carroll college, Waukesha, Wis., Segermark was employed on congressional campaigns for Republican candidates in 1964 and 1966, and went to Washington to seek a staff position with a Republican congressman in January of this' year. "The Republicans are still in the minority here with only 187 members of the House", Segermark said," and the Democratic majority seldom extends job offers to Republicans. I was assisted greatly however, by Congressman McClory and his administrative assistant, Donald Deuster, of Libertyville. The Segermark family have been residents of the McHenry area for eleven years. Mr. and Mrs. Segermark also have twin daughters, Bonnie and Connie, 21, who are employed in the McHenry area. Segermark's new employer, Hon. Ancher (pronounced, "anchor") Nelsen is the ranking Republican member of the House District of Columbia committee, and also serves on the House Interstate and Foreign Commerce committee. First elected to the House in 1958, Nelsen was elected Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota in 1952 and then resigned to take a presidential appointment as administrator of the National Rural Electrification program, where he served from April, 1953, to May, 1956. AN KHE, VIETNAM - Warrant Officer John H. Davis, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack M. Davis, 4416 N. Mayfair drive, McHenry, was assigned to the 1st Air Cavalry division in Vietnam, Feb.,22. WO Davis - is a helicopter pilot in Company D of the division's 229 Aviation Battalion at Camp Radcliff near An Khe. He entered the Army in December, 1965, and was last stationed at Ft., Rucker, Ala. WO Davis is a 1963 graduate of McHenry Community high school. Warrant Officer Candidate John R. Becker, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard J. Becker, 2726 Sequoia drive, McHenry, completed a helicopter pilot course at the Army Primary Helicopter school, Ft. Wolters, Texas, March 3. During the 16-week course, he was trained to fly Army helicopters and learned to use them • in tactical maneuvers. He next will undergo advanced flight training at the Army Avi ation school, Ft. Rucker, Ala. Upon completion of advanced training he may be appointed a warrant officer. COURT BRIEFS A COURT BRIEFS Appearing before Judge William Gleason in Branch 3 court last Friday, Sam Kessler of Skokie, in a trial, was found guilty of speeding and fined $25 and $5 costs. Russell B. Jensen of 1912 River Terrace, McHenry, pleaded guilty to having an expired operator's license and paid a $20 fine and $5 costs. A fine of $10 and $5 costs were assessed Ronald C. Nagel of 2707 Iroquois, McHenry, for not having valid registration. CPL. RONALD J. CHRISTI A SERVICE NEWS ,Cpl. Ronald J. Christi, son of Mrs. Donald Jaschke of 2516 Clara drive, McHenry, arrived home March 20 from Viet Nam, where he had been serving with the Marines in the de-militarized zone for the past thirteen months. Cpl. Christ will be married James E. Chrism an of 3601 Ellen avenue, McHetiry, was fined $18 and $5 costs for speeding. Bill W.° Johnson of Crystal Lake pleaded guilty to operation of a vehicle without evidence of registration. His fine was $10 and $5 costs.
