This is the last chance for boys to registrar for the playing season of 1967. The try-outs will be held cm April 1 weather permitting. Further information as to which field and time will be available closer to the try-out date. LPPOA NEWS In case you hadn't noticed in an earlier issue, the association is accepting nominations for officers at this time with the election to be held on April 19. The committee consists of Ron Braun, 385-5547 and Bill Bockman, 385-1845. Even though the election isn't until next month it does take time to contact the nominees and to prepare the ballots, so please don't wait until the last possible minute to nominate your favorite candidate. Our subdivision is taking on a new look with the new street signs installed. The crews are working on them and will have all of them installed pretty soon so don't get nervous if your street is still nameless. They sure look nice. WOMAN'S CLUB Nominations are being accepted for Woman's Club officers uriil March 29. The election will be held at the April meeting of April 6. Chairman of the nominating committee is Helen Strandquist, 385-1921. Her committee consists ofPetey Oakford, 385-5334, Leah Glorch, 385-1924, Hattie Manning, 385-2678 and Margo Schaedel, 385-3414. Next we played games. One of them was "Ruth and Jacob." Terry Brooks, Cathy Mueller, and Debbie George brought treats. We had cookies and Kool-aid. The Girl Scout Council has a birthday each year and as a present we received three girl scout pens. Happy birthday, Girl Scouts! We closed our meeting with the flag ceremony. BROWNIE TROOP 464 The Brownies made pencil holders at their last meeting. They used cans which they covered with paper decorated with resistance drawings. The hostess for the day was Tammy Hafer who brought home-made fudge. Kathy Brooks brought treats for the girls also in honor of her birthday. BOY SCOUT TROOP 459 Troop 459 had their Green Bar meeting last Monday evening. At this meeting the patrol leaders and their assistants plan the future activities of the troop. On March 21, Parents Night, the boys are to arrive half an hour early to prepare everything. They have been practicing during the last few meetings for the candlelight ceremony. In first place is the Wino's with 18-6. The Ramskells are second with 15-9 and there is a four way tie for third between the Jammers, Warriors, Saints and Famous 4 with 13-11. Also tied for seventh spot are the Sinners and Dreps with 12-12. The Jaw-Breakers come cuits and the 4-Pins with 9-15 brought up in the rear by the Bombers with 6-18. (My one chance left to change those standings and from the looks of it - it's anybodys ball game yet. GIRL SCOUT TROOP 320 We began our meeting with the flag ceremony. We sang, "America, the Beautiful." Then we went into patrols and collected dues. Each patrol then chose a new patrol leader ami a new assistant patrol leader. We also chose a new treasurer and scribe. The new patrol leaders are: Patrol 1, Linda Apel, assistant, Patti Laursen; Patrol 2, Mary Humann, assistant, Nancy Christy; Patrol 3, Cathy Mueller, assistant, Chris Jaenicke; Patrol 4, Veronica Bierman, assistant, Dawn Dolenski. The new treasurer is Leah Rode and her assistant is Debbie Schabow. The new scribe is Donna Humann, and her assistant is Darlene Li castro. . we had our ceremony where STORK-GRAM The Kuhns family is evensteven again with the birth of a baby boy on March 13 at McHenry hospital. Proud parents, Wally and Ann Kuhns, have named their third son and sixth child Todd Frazier. He weighed 6 lb. 12 oz., and measured 20 inches long. He was welcomed home on St. Patrick's day by brothers, Lance and Scott and sisters, Holly, Wendy and Jill. Our congratulations to the whole family. Hie birthday kids of that day are Chris Tiffany, Mary Therese and Frank Sweeney, Adele Kroening and Greg Bartos who is marking year number 13. Florence Piasecki celebrates on the twenty-ninth. ANNIVERSARY WALTZ - Will be played in honor of Edna and Charles Anderson on March 29 in honor of their twenty-seventh wedding anniversary. STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK Down with weather reports! Ray and Judy Widhalm and Ron Barwig took their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Barwig, out to dinner in Dundee last week to celebrate their thirty-seventh wedding anniversary. Our belated congratulations to them. Their anniversary took place on March-2. Theresa Dolenski was the birthday gi^l when she celebrated her fifth birthday on Sunday with the help of scads of relatives. Helping her to do away with the birthday cake were Grandma Ritzert of Crystal Lake, Aunt Marie and Uncle Russell Lawrence of Elgin, her godparents, June and Don Clem of Woodstock, Uncle John and Aunt Carol Ritzert, of Woodstock, Uncle Charles Ritzert of Crystal t Lake, Uncle Vera and Aunt Ann Zellhofer and family of Marengo and Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Lola Meiers of Crystal Lake. Her kitty also gave her a big birthday gift of a litter of kittens on her bed just in time for her birthday! Ray and Carol Cynowa and Mrs. Cynowa attended the flower show last Saturday and have the bug fqr spring planting time to arrive. They really enjoyed the day and brought home blown-glass trinkets which were being made right there. On Sunday they celebrated Grandpa Gartze's birthday in Crystal Lake and Paul and Grandpa, topped the day off by going bowling. While they were in Chicago on Saturday, they paid a visit to Great-grandma and grandpa Cynowa. Paulette Rizzo is home for the Easter holidays and was joined for a few days by her roommate, Maureen Skoks, of Chicago. Jan Walker is still confined to Silver Cross hospital.in Joliet where she must stayinbed. I'm sure she would appreciate a few lines from her many friends in the area. Hope you are oh the recover road real quick. The Blackhawks drew a big groqp of fans from Lakeland Park last Sunday night when they received the championship trophy before the game. Don "Humanrr-and Chuck Pierce were in one group. Ron and Alan Stfewer and Bob and Bobby Matthews were another groiip. Jay Osman and Jody and Barbara were there with Ted Kaminski plus more whose names I don't know. Sure do know of a lot of wives that weren't too happy staying home by the fire that night! A surprise party was held for Stan and Ivy Lezak last Sunday night at the home of Ann Herzog, Ivy is leaving for their fishing resort at the end of the week and this was the last of a round of parties. Bringing pot-luck were Edna and Tom Hountras, Ruth and Orlo Mc- Mahon, Gene and Helen Kraskiewicz and Mike and Delia Julian. After the sumptuous repast they settled down with the poker and pinochle decks and made a real night of it. Everyone is really sad to see the Lezaks leave, but most likely summer will find a few of them vacationing around Spooner. The same group were guests at Lit and Jim McEnery's new home in Elk Grove Village last week and were surprised when Grace and Ed Mandziara dropped in for a visit. The bridge grotq> met at Ruth Chadwick's house last week for several rubbers of bridge. The players were Delia Julian, Ivy Lezak, Lucille Dietz, Ann Leigh, Ruth Seaholm, Gayle Laursen and Ann Herzog. Ruth Seaholm took first prize and Ivy Lezak won second. They were served their usual high calorie goodies to help keep up their energy! As he continued the review throughout the district, it was evident there will be displays of inter est0 to everyone and duplication of exhibits has been eliminated.
