She followed a brief jwmeeting and a talent show of short plays and skits as Well as dances presented by thefifth and sixths grade students. They provided a great deal of en- ;;«joyment and entertainment-to a <fiill house in the audience. Gold- "finger was played by Danny and ?^3d Betts and Tom Low. Paul Walkington's term is up this year, and Paul has elected not to rerun. Paul has given many years of his time serving as the clerk. SPRING SCHOOL TRIP The community club is again going to sponsor the annual spring school trip and are open for good suggestions as to where the youngsters could go on their bus trip. This will include the first thru sixth grades. If you have any suggestions on an interesting or educational place to go, call Mrs. London at the school, John Lanway or myself. TOWNSHIP ELECTION APRIL 4th. The'township election will be held on Tuesday, April 4, for the township Vficials. There will also be a ballot handed to you for a referendum on mental health. It is your privilege to go to the polls on Tuesday and cast your vote for thepeopleyou want to' run our township. John Winston returned on Thursday to resume studies at college in Azusa, Calif. Ida Mae Walkington spent the Easter holiday with her folks, the Paul Walkingtons. Ida Mae is in nursing training in Madison. Mr. Smith of Lake Geneva called on the Winstons on Saturday. That's it for another week. Mar. 23, 30, Apr. 6, 1967). * V F W AUXILIARY MEWS By Gerry Breede Genevieve Bradley, Hospital chairman for the ladies auxiliary to VFW Post 4600, was accompanied by Jean Wiles, president, Kathy Fuhler, Mary Kuemmel and Sharon Lopez on Wednesday, March 15, for the auxiliary's monthly visit to Downey Veterans hospital. Approximately sixty men were served doughnuts, frUit and candy by these ladies. The men were also presented with canteen books which they are then able to use as cash at the canteen to purchase articles such as cigarettes, combs etc. Genevieve is serving her second year now as the auxiliary Hospital chairman. MINERAL PRODUCTION A recent report released by the Illinois State Geological survey notes that the value of minerals produced in Illinois in 1965 totaled $618.5 million. This annual value ranks next to the record high of $631 million in 1962. An Increase of approximately $10 million if the \alue of coal over 1964 partially offset a decline of about $19 million in the 1965 value of oil.
