Riverstream drive, McHenry, is candidate for re-election as township supervisor on the Independent township ticket, an office to which he was elected in 1963. Previously, he served four years as assistant supervisor. He has served on the Zoning, Lands and Lots, Right of WSay, Civil Defense, Special Rules and Special Bridge committees and as chairman of Purchasing and Public Buildings, Legislative, Claims and General Assistance to Dependent Children committees. At present, he r§ the county's representative on the Urban County Problems council, which is composed of the six counties of northeastern Illinois. He and his wife, Florence, who assists him in his officc have one daughter Donna Mae. a freshman at Bradley university. EDWARD J. BUSS 6f 3314 W. Golfview drive, McHenry, candidate on the Independent ticket, is a native of McHenry, attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated in 1947 from McHenry high school. For many years he has been active in civic affairs. He has served as a member of the board of the McHenry Chamber of Commerce and as its president in 1962. At present, he is president of the Little League, member of the city zoning board of appeals, treasurer of the McHenry Country club, member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, McHenry Moose and St. Mary's church. lie is chairman of the McHenry County Mental Health committee and a member of several committees. Mr. Buss and his wife, the former Joart May of Johnsburg, have five children, Judy, 16, Bonnie, 13, Patricia, 12, Steve, 11, and Robert, 8. THOMAS H. HUEMANN, youngest of the Independent ticket candidates is 32, is a native of Johnsburg and now resides there at 2103 W. Church street. He seeks re-election as assistant supervisor. He is a graduate of McHenry high school and attended the University of Notre Dame. He is an Air Force veteran. Mr. Huemann was elected iri 1963 as assistant supervisor, a position he hopes to hold again if re-elected April 4. He has served on the Claims, Labor and Fees, Claims and General Assistance, Education and Public Relations, Zoning Land and Lots and Sheriffs committees. •» Owner and operator of his own water conditioning business, he is also active in various church and civic organizations. Mr. Huemann and his wife, Darleen, have four children, Lia, Kim, Joe and Tom, Jr. CHARLES J. (CHUCK) MILLER, a native of McHenry, has been McHenry Township road commissioner for the past twenty years, a position where he has carried out the type of work in which his own business provided training. He seeks re-election on the Independent ticket. Mr. Miller is a member of the McHenry Moose lodge, American Legion, Woodstock Ellks lodge, Johnsburg Community club, Catholic Order of Foresters, McHenry Chamber of Commerce and Township Highway Commissioners of Illinois. He resides at 3709 W. Clover, McHenry, with his wife, Dorothy. They have five children. J. R. (JAKE) LFAESQtE, a candidate for supervisor on the Republican ticket, seeks his first term in that office. He is a resident of 3011 X. Spring road, McCullom Lake. He has ten years of experience as a building contractor and for five years worked as a Union bricklayer. Mr., Levesque has been a Republican precinct committeeman since 1957 and for four years of this time served as county chairman. He completed ten years as major of McCullom Lake before serving the past four years as assistant state Treasurer of Illinois. He is a member of the Legion, Moose and Masonic order, all in McHenry. At present a lieutenant commander in the Naval Air Reserve, he has twenty-four years of military service. The McCullom Lake man is married and he and his wife, Eve, have four children. LEWIS BELSHAW of Wonder Lake seeks his first term as assistant supervisor as a member of the Republican ticket. His business affiliations include the sales department of Montgomery Ward, accounting department of International Harvester, cost accounting with Ray-O-Vac company and manager of Wisconsin Co-Op Farm Supply. Mr. Belshaw is a member of the Methodist church and Loyal Order of Moose, No. 1329. He has served as an officer of several civic organizations. He^and his wife, Betty, reside on 4403 E, Wonder Lake road, where they are enjoying retirement. " ^ He received his early education at Kankakee and Champaign schools and completed it in the "college of engineering, University of Illinois. TOM BIRMINGHAM of 2208 W. Mill lane, Eastwood Manor, is a candidate for assistant supervisor on the Republican ticket. Mr. Birmingham, a native of Chicago, was educated at St. Mel school and the University of Illinois, where he was a journalism major. For thirty years he worked in management and operations for the Chicago Transit Authority before assuming the stewardship of the American Legion post, McHenry. He has been active in civic affairs locally since 1957, a member of the Legion, which he served as commander, and has served as president of the Eastwood Manor Property association. Mr. Birmingham is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church. He is a veteran of World War n, with three years Army service. Mr. and Mrs. ..Birmingham have two sons and two daughters. CLARENCE REGNER, a lifelong resident of McHenry, resides on Regner road in the "Bay area. He is a candidate for the office of highway commissioner on the Republican ticket. Like the other candidate for that office, he has been in the trucking and sand and gravel business for the past thirty years. Mr. Regner is a member of St. John's Catholic church, Johnsburg, McHenry Council Knights of Columbus, Johnsburg Community club, Moose lodge and Johnsburg Business Men's association. He is also president of the E. Pistakee Improvement association and a member of McHenry County Government Improvement league.
