DR. PETER H. GRIESBACH of 3705 W. Clover, McHenry, has served six years as member of the board of District 15. His civic affiliations include vice-president of U.C.P. of McHenry, health officer for the city of McHenry, vice-president McHenry County Medical society, director of Poison Control center, member Council for Exceptional Children of the National Education association; American Academy of Pediatrics and School Health committee. Dr. Griesbach has a B.A. degree from Columbia university and recieved his M.D. at Chicago Medical school, With postgraduate training, specializing in diseases of children. He is a practicing physician in McHenry. Residents of McHenry for eleven and a half years, Dr. Griesbach and his wife, Roslyri, have four children, Fern, 11, Steven, 9% Lee, 7f and Susan, 5. ROBERT E. HIRSCH of 1612 N. Park street, McHenry, has been a resident of McHenry for four years. Mr. Hirsch seeks his first term on the local board.' He received his degree from Northern Michigan university, Marquette, Mich., and had seminary training in North Park Theological seminary, Chicago, plus graduate work toward a Master's degree in education at Northern Illinois university and at Bradley university. For the past four years he has served as minister of the Chain 0* Lakes Evangelical covenant church, and also has nine years experience in the ministry previous to this time. Mr. Hirsch has taught school four years, more than two of these in McHenry. He serves this year as -vice-president of District 15 P.T.A. Married fifteen years, the Hirsches have five children, four presently enrolled in McHenry schools and one a preschooler. THOMAS LAWSON, a native of McHenry, graduated in 1945 from McHenry high school, followed by two yeairs with the UJS. Marine corps. Mr. Lawson has been employed by the Post Office department in McHenry for the past eighteen years, ten of which he has served as rural mail carrier. He was first elected to the board of education in 1961 and was re-elected four years later. Named secretary in 1965, he has served in that capacity since that time. Mr. Lawson is an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, V.F.W., Little League and is presently serving as committee chairman for Cub Scout Pack 131. The McHenry man is married and the father of six children, Nancy and Linda, 16, Janet, 14, David and Diana, 11, and Donna, 8. HENRY NELL, JR., who resides at 1710 N. Court street, McHenry, is a lifelong resident of the McHenry area. He graduated from McHenry high school in 1945 and is now engaged as a construction superintendent. Mr. Nell has served two terms on the board of District 15. Other affiliations include jnember of the American Legion, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, past grand Knight, Third degree; treasurer of McHenry County Historical society and Catholic Order of Foresters. He is aveteranof service with the Navy. Mr. Nell and his wife, the former Elaine Schaefer, have three children, Cindy, 17, a senior at Marian high school; Jessica, 14, a freshman at that school; and Beth, 10, in fourth grade at St. Mary's parochial school. AVERY VOSE RE-ELECTED HEAD OF PURE MILK Avery A. Vose, Rt. 2, Antioch, was re-elected president of Pure Milk association at a meeting of the PMA board of directors, March 29, in Chicago. Vose has served as PMA president since 1959 and as a member of the board since 1951. Other PMA officers reelected were Ernest Winings, Rt. 1, Lovington, Dl., first vicepresident; and Robert J. Van Liere, Rt. 2, Salem, Wis., secretary. Walter C. Kirchner.Rt. 1, Lake Zurich, 111., was retained as treasurer. Re-elected second vice-president was John E. Butterbrodt, Rt. 1, Akron, Ind. Pure Milk association is a marketing and bargaining cooperative for more than 10,000 dairy farmer members in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and a small part of Michigan. Mr. Freund and his wife, Gloria, have one son, Robert, 17, and three daughters, Pat, 14, Carol, 12, and Linda, 9. DONALD HOWARD, a lifetime resident of McHenry, resides at 3715 W. John street. 7 A graduate of McHenry high school and the National Institute of Dry Cleaning, he is presently manager of Gem Cleaners. Mr. Howard has been a member of the local board for fifteen years, eleven of which he has served as secretary. He is affiliated with the Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus and on, the board of'directors of McHenry Chamber of Commerce., <?' Mr. Howard and his wife, Vivian, have two sons and three grandchidren. OTTO L. LARSEN of 2312 N. Riverside drive, McHenry, hasf been a resident of the McHenry area for the past thirteen years. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois with the class of 1953 with a B.S. degree. He is a civil engineer with Baxter & Woodman, Crystal Lake. For the past twelve years Mr. Larsen has been associated with McHenry Little League. Mr. Larsen and his wife, Frances, have three children, Hans, 4%years, Fritz, 2%years, and Greta, a year old. JAMES ALTHOFF of 6411 Round Up road, McHenry, has resided all his life in this community, where he graduated from McHenry high school. He is now self employed with AlthofTs, Inc., Mechanical and Electrical Contractors. Mr. Althoff is president of the McHenry Township Fire district, a member of the city of McHenry zoning board, chairman of the Industrial commission, city of McHenry; board member of the McHenry Country club, past board member of McHenry Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Kiwanis club. Married to the former Joan Andreen of Wonder Lake, they have six children, Tim, 15, Betsy, 14, Todd, 13, Cathy, 10, Patricia, 8, and Jim, Jr., 6. GEORGE M. It was held at the Legion home on Ringwood Road. Mrs. Eleanor Howe of Crystal Lake called on the L. E. Hawleys on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brennan and son, Wayne, of Twin Lakes called on the Charles Brennans on Sunday. Mrs. Margarite Knappp and Mrs. Floyd Howe of Crystal Lake called on Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hawley on Tuesday. Mrs. Rose Petrosky of Twin Lakes called on Mrs. Nellie Hepburn on Friday. Chi Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Schmitt and son, Mike, called on the Bob Brennans. That's it for another week. SEEKS TV STATION Senator Dennis J. Collins, R. DeKalb, has introduced a bill in the Senate appropriating funds for the construction and operation of a non-commercial educational television station at Northern Illinois university. An area of approximately one million persons would be served by this station, including 300,000 elementary and secondary school pupils. In addition to in-school telecasting, the NIU station would provide extension and adult courses, as well as aid the Junior Colleges in north central Illinois. Young people would be offered cultural and high quality educational programs. JAPANESE DISPLAY.. On display in New York's Grand Army Plaza at Fifth Avenue and Central Park, Ls this 16-foot-Uill model Japanese temple which was shipped here from Tokyo for the city's celebration of "Japan Week." It is a model of Tsuru-ga-jo, the Temple of the Auspicious Crane, built in 1384 in Ai/u-\Vakamatsu, northern Japan.
