They were Marie Oefflirig, Alvina Miller, Catherine Dehn, Lou LaBay, Eva Schaefer, Nadine Frett, Elseda Fuchs, Anita Freund, Dorothy Hughes, Kathleen Moehling, Evelyn Beidrich, Virginia Pitzen, Clara Tonyan, Rose Tonyan, Mary Miller, Kay Bauer, Mae May and Rita Schaefer. Linda Schaefer, Jean Kattner, Barbara Diedrich and Louella Schultz were presented in the Father Baumhofer Class of 1967" during the program following dinner. A word of importance to all members of St. Agatha court No. 777. The banquet and installation will be held on April 18. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. at Hettermaim's, with the installation following later in the community club hall. Reservations should be into Virginia Pitzen no later than April 16. If you are a court member and plan to attend the banquet, please contact Virginia as soon as possible. FORTHCOMING FRATERNITY INITIATION Diane Stilling of 3622 N. Chapel Hill Road has been selected far Delta Psi Kappa, National Physical Education Fraternity, and will be initiated into the professional organization at its May 9 meeting. "Dee" attends Northern Illinois University at DeKalb and graduated from Marian Central high school in June of 1964. At Northern she is a member of Major-Minor Club and is active in W.R.A. She is majoring in. physical education and will graduate in June of 1968. PEOPLE ON THE GO Arnie and Clara Michels were real happy to have her sister and husband, the George Logs- * dons of Alvada, Ohio, as their .bouse guests over tins past weekend. If all goes as planned, Mrs. .Toe Smith will be in Rockford, next Sunday to watch her granddaughter, Janet Zimmermann, participate in a play which will be held in Boylan high school. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith enjoyed dining out last Sunday in the company of the Einar Fossums of Rockford. Recently the Smiths entertained her sister, Mrs. Ann Dor an of Chicago, and Paul and Mike Zimmermann of Rockford in their home. Mary Hettermann and daughter, Jean, were in Pittsburgh over last weekend where Jean performed with the Viscount color guard. Mary was one of the chaperones on the long trip that was made by bus. Joyce Pitzen returned to her studies at Alverno college Sunday after spending the Easter vacation with her family. Llqyd Smith, who is a college student in New Mexico, and a school chum, spent several days over the Easter vacation visiting in the home of Ted and Sandy Freund in San Francisco. Ted is stationed there with the navy. The Freunds had loads of questions for Lloyd to answer as to what was going on back home during his last visit here. John Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyer, Sr., surprised his family by arriving here Friday evening, one week earlier than expected. This is his first visit home in about a year. He has been in Iceland most recently. Upon his return, John will go to Norfolk, Va., where he will resume his navy airman duties. FAMILY MEMBERS EXCHANGE VOWS Last Saturday, April 1, two members of the Stilling family were married in St. John's church. At a nuptial Mass performed at 10 a.m., Charles Stilling took Mildred Reynolds as his wife. At 2p.m. that afternoon, Mr. Stilling's daughter, Carmen, became the bride of Jon Adams. A reception honoring the newlyweds was held in the Community Club hall later. Our very best of wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Stilling and the new Mr. and Mrs. Adams. YOUNGSTERS CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS The twin children of Phyllis and Wally Kalemba celebrated their third birthdays on April 4. In observance of the occasion, there was a party in their home the prior Sunday. Joining in on the birthday fun were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Smith, Mrs. Walter Kalemba, the Carl Ohlrich family, Mrs. Anna Brown, the Charles Oborny family and Mrs. Steven Sobie. Mark and Karen were the recipients of many lovely gifts. Coming up on April 10, little Wendi Huemann, daughter of Dick and Janet, will be inline for her first birthday celebration. Young Christopher, who was born at the McHenry hospital on HOLIDAY HILLS NEWS INEZ YOUNG 385-4672 ROAD CONDITIONS CURTAIL SCHOOL BUS SERVICE Hie often threatened curtailment of school bus service into the subdivision became a harsh reality last week. The children were informed on Tuesday, March 28, that the buses wduld pick them up at the entrance of the subdivision the next morning. The reason, of course, was the condition of our: roads, the seat of so many of our problems. The total number of children now boarding buses at this one March 13, was christened at St. Patrick's church in McHenry that afternoon. His sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schaefer. Along with Sister Albertine and the Smiths, theMc- Culiffe family was also present. FUN FAIR INVITATION Remember April 15 is the rof the Fun Fair put on by . Johnsburg public school. Everyone is invited to come on in and spend an enjoyable afternoon. Marge Barth is still looking around for things that she can use in her country store. If you have anything in the line of white elephant items, glassware, plants, toys, games etc., in usable condition, please contact her right away. Please keep April 15 in mind as a time for fun at the Johnsburg public school annual fun fair. Hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. stop is almost 400. Facilities are not available to accommodate that many young people without damage to property and danger to the children. Cars travel in both directions on three different roads at that point, our own subdivision, as well as Le Villa Vaupell and River Road. This brings to light the cold reality of what happens when the roads are not maintained, and since they are maintained by the association, the need for the cooperation of every resident. Support the association in their work and activities, and pay your dues. Orchids to our deputy sheriff, Jim Harper, who has been working feverishly, making phone calls, being out at the entrance and seeing to it, when possible, that a sheriffs car and two sheriffs were on hand to protect our children. WELCOME HOME On the bright side, a warm, warm welcome home to Jim Dowhin, Jr., who returned to civilian life April 4 after serving two years in the service of the United States Army. According to a hilarious 'Notice of Eventual Return' which he recently sent home, it may take some time for him to become accustomed to civilian life, but he's most anxious to get on with it. FLORIDA TRIP Our daughter, Gail, along with her friends, Nancy Miller and Proclamation WHEREAS, The first week in April of the year 1967 marks the fiftieth year since the United States of America entered the war against Germany on April 6,1917, and WHEREAS, Many young men and women whose capacities were never realized and whose talents were lost to our state and nation were given by Illinois to their country's call to duty, and Sherri Olinski, left McHenry on St. Patrick's day and drove down to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. They returned Easter Sunday looking like they'd been basking in the sun foi* a month. She had a wonderful time and says that while a small minority made the headlines, the vast majority were down there to enjoy themselves. It was a most enjoyable vacation!
