Special Projects Director To Address Harrison School PTA In keeping with the endeavor of the Harrison School PTA to' keep its members well informed on educational and School related subjects, the guest speaker for the April 11 meeting will be Richard A. Svrantz, director of special proejects for McHenry public schools. His presentation, "A Progress Report on the New High School", will bring everyoneup to date on just what changes have been made in the physical plant and in student services and philosophy, and how this will benefit the student's. Following this, he will avail himself to the audience for any questions regarding the new school or the present one. . Mr. Swantz was recently appointed to his position as administrative assistant to the McHenry Superintendent of Schools, and his major responsibilities are federal and state funding, program for gifted children, and special education. PTA members will elect officers for the 1967-68 school year. The nominating committee will present the panel of _ new officers, and nominations from the floor will be accepted. Gloria Freund, PTA president, wishes to remind everyone that the school board election will be held Saturday, April 8, from noon to 7 p.m. at Harrison school. Harrison School District 36 board has two three-year vacancies, and seeking election are Henry Setzler, incumbent, and Mrs. Maxine Bixby. McHenry High School District 156 board has three threeyear vacancies, and candidates are George M. Freund and Donald Howard, incumbents; and James Althoff and Otto Larsen. Carl Neiss did not file for re-election.
