CALLS, CALLS, AND MORE CALLS I have received quite a few calls this past week concerning the dogs that seem to be running in packs. The callers say that the dogs are running all over the black top and it seems that at times it's almost impossible not to hit one of them. I know that I myself have had to stop suddenly to allow three or four dogs to cross the road. We own a dog, too, but I am sure that the children would miss her terribly if anything were to happen to her. Just as the little owners of these free running dogs would miss their favorite pet. EDDII the EDUCATOR says 6< BALLOT BOX School bond and fax referenda are meeting increased voter resistance in Illinois. Successful referenda registered, a seven percent lost in 1966. Illinois Education Association Switch to gas heat now. It makes sense. Because we'll finance the conversion to gas through your heating contractor. Terms No down payment. No payment until October 1,1967. Up to 5 years to pay. Payments as low as $3 a month. Because if you live in a typical, nsulated home with a basemen^ gas heat will save you $92 a year over oil heat, $97 a year over hand-fired coal heat, and $317 a year over electric resistance heat Because with gas heat you'll be rid o( expensive maintenance, costly repairs. And because you'll have no delivery problems, you'll have peace of mind. (You can put your own price tag on that! Because clean, comfortable, dependable gas heat saves you money^ from the very start. In fact, you savings soon pay for the cost of conversion. And it also makes sense --when you heat with gas, why not cool with gas? Ask your contractor about adding gas air conditioning, too (We'll finance both.) Northern Illinois Gas Company WITNESSES PLAN FOR CONVENTION IN MID-APRIL Domini ck Fontana of 1542 N. Madison street, Woodstock, presiding minister, said that some eighty-five of those in the Woodstock congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses expect to attend a convention to be held in Lombard on April 14 to 16. The religious assembly is sponsored by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Brooklyn, N.Y. Fontana told the McHenry Plaindealer that he was looking forward to sharing the sessions designed to further the Bible knowledge of all those ill attendance as well astohelp them "become better servants of the Most High God, Jehovah." "All of Jehovah's Witnesses consider themselves servants at God," Dominick Fontana said. "The presiding minister is , known as the congregation servant in all the more than twenty-four thousand congregations throughout the earth. This is because we serve our fellow ministers, rather than become their leaders. This is in line with Jesus' teaching at Matthew 23:11 that 'the greatest one among you must be your servant' or minister. Therefore, we are a society of ministers, each trying to serve the other to the best of capabilities in Christian love.", "At the conventiottnextwegk, we're going to concentrateon learning to help others become better acquainted with the Holy Bible, so they will makeittheir -y. :< guide for living every day/' Fontana said that the public is not only welcome to attend all .the sessions of the convention to be held at the Glenbard East high school, but "we urge all those interested in the Bible to Join with us in our discussions and especially, view the technicolor film, "God Cannot Lie" to be shown on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m." ANGELO'S SUNSET INN , Specializing in BUSINESSMEN'S LUNCH 12 noon to 2 p.m. FINE FOODS -- COURTEOUS SERVICE _ I Mile North of Wauconda on Old Route 12 Phone JA o-2929 ZION EVANGELICAL J.UTHEKAN CHURCH (Missouri Synod) 3206 W. I must admit to a feeling of sadness, for the moment made all of the wedding preparations suddenly become real. Carol is being married in less than a month, yet it seems only yesterday John and I brought her home from the hospital. Hansel and;Gretel were last, and I smiled as I packed them. For they remind me of Carol and her young man. They seem such dreamy young innocents, but are really quite practical. Already they've solved many of the problems John and I never thought of until after our marriage. Yes, their path is well marked through the forest of matrimony. To be sure, they may have troubled times, but they share a deep and abiding love for God that promises strength and comfort beyond their own resources. With God and His church at the center of their lives, they cannot fail. THE CHURCH FOR ALL ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs hiB moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Copyright A967'Heater Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburg, Va.
