SUSAN FABR TO JOIN DELTA PSI KAPPA ON MAY 9 Susan C. Farr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Farr, 505 N. North boulevard, McHenry has been selected for Delta Psi Kappa, National Physical Education sorority, and will be initiated into the professional organization at its May 9 meeting. Miss Farr attends Northern Illinois university at DeKalb and was graduated from McHenry Community high school in June, 1965. At Northern, she is a member of the Women's Recreation association executive board and Cwens, sophomore women's honorary, and is also active in the women's extra- mural athletic program. She is majoring in psychology and minoring in physical education. Susan will graduate in June 1969. FACES CHARGE Charles Fish of 8019 Widoff drive, Wonder Lake, has been charged with theft under $150 and released on $300 bond after his arrest last week Wednesday by Woodstock city police in Ray's Econ-O-Wash Laundromat in that city. Miss Bartz lives in Marengo. PAUL J. BRENDLE Victim of a terminal illness, Paul J. Brendle, 72, 5222 W. Parkview, McCullom Lake, died in his home at 7:10 p.m„ Saturday. He underwent surgery at Veteran's Research hospital in Chicago March 8 after extensive hospitalization, ft was at this time, that the terminal illness was discovered. He returned home March 14, and developed pneumonia Saturday morning. His physician was summoned, but treatment was to no avail, and he succumbed the same evening. His family was with him at the time. Visitation was held at the George Justen and Son funeral home, with services for the deceased held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Raymond White, Community Methodist church, McHenry, conducted the service. A member of World War 1 Barracks, McHenry, Mr. Brendle was given full military honors, with members of the barracks serving as pallbearers and honor guard. Burial was in Arlington cemetery, Elmhurst. Paul Brendle was born Dec. 10, 1894, in Chicago and married Edith Naedelen, March 12, 1919. He worked as a labor foreman until his retirement seven years ago. The Brendles made their home in Chicago, and purchased property in McCullom Lake in 1937. They used it for a summer residence until sixteen years ago, when they moved here on a permanent basis. Mr. Brendle was fond of fishing, gardening, and enjoyed playing pinochle. In addition to his wife, Edith, he is survived by two children, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Palmer, McHenry, and Paul C. Brendle, McCullom Lake. He also leaves five grandchildren, Robert Palmer, U.S. Army Engineers; and Terry, Debbie, Karen and Steve Brendle, McCullom Lake. one time as commander of the local V.F.W, post. Survivors are his widoW, Catherine (Kate) Mannix Duesler; a sister-in-law, Madeline Henn; and three nieces, Kathleen and Maureen Henn and Patricia Miller, all of McHenry. CHARLES STROHMAIER Last rites were held in Milwaukee, Wis., last week for Charles Strohmaier, 94, of that city. He was the father of Mrs. Paul Jessup and Mrs. Henry Harry of McHenry. GEORGE DUESLER A funeral Mass was sung at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, for George T. Deusler, 72, of 1905 W. Sunny side Beach drive, McHenry, who died Sunday, April 9, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. Death followed a long period of poor health. The body rested at the Hursen chapel in Chicago Monday and then was brought to the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home in McHenry for visitation. Mr. Duesler was born Aug. 5, 1894, in Donovan, 111. He had been a resident of this area for a number of years and served at CHRISTINE KIST Mrs. Christine Kist of 8036 S. Elizabeth street, Chicago, died at the age of 80 in St. Bernard's hospital, Chicago, on Monday, April 10. Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, Mrs. Kathryn Worts and Mrs. Helen Moriarity, all of McHenry, and Mrs. Emma Hartley of Chicago. Her husband, Harry, and a sister, Ann Meyers, preceded her in death. The funeral was held at St. Sabina church Wednesday morning, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. WILLIAM MYER William Melvin (Pete) Myer of Ingleside died last Friday evening, April 7, of a heart attack. He was 46 years of age and well known in this area. , Mr. Myer resided with an aunt Mrs. Kate (Walsh) Graham. Among other survivors are four sisters. The deceased was past commander of Fox Lake Legion post. A funeral Mass was sung Monday morning in St. Joseph Catholic church, Round Lake, with interment in the church cemetery.
