Election of board members will tike place as well as a discussion' on several items of great importance to the whole community, particularly the renewal of the garbage disposal contract. Refreshments will be served following th$ meeting by members of the Roman's Club. CRAZY HAT CONTEST^ After several years vacailon, the old crazy hat contest has been revived with the hopes that all the gals have rejuvenated their brain cells and can come up with more chapeaus. In past years some dandy specimens have been invented by those devious female minds and the one thai probably says it all was Marge Casey's coffee {rat and telephone! The mad, mad, mad toppers will be on display at the May 3 meeting of the Woman's Club. A hint has come our way that some ideas can be gathered by watching a TV program at. 12:30 on channel 5. Monday, April 24 - Lakeland Park 4-H Club, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 - Boy Scout meeting, 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, - Little League open meeting, 8 p.m. GERL SCOUT TROOP 320 The last meeting of troop 320 began with the flag ceremony and the troop sang. Mrs. Schabow, the cookie chairman, was there to collect the money from the cookie sales. Mrs, Kamp assisted her. All the girls did very well and a lot of boxes of cookies were sold and de£ livered. Our troop will earn a nickel for eacli box sold. TTie girls worked on place card&for their fathers and themselves for the Father -Daughter banquet to be held on April 26 at the Johnsburg Community Hall at 6:45 p.m. The girls are to attend in full uniform. Each girl is. to bring a dish to pass. Mrs. Stiqpey brought a sheet cake with each piece decorated with a flower. 1$ was' her birthday and the troop sang happy birthday to her; No meeting will be held next week because of the banquet and the date of the next meeting is May 3. Permission slips will; be coining home soon and must be returned at the following meeting. v: LAKE CONSERVATION The newly formed McCullom Lake Conservation Club comprised of representatives of all the communities on the lake is having a clean-up day on Saturday, April 29, at 9 a.m. Lakeland Park and McHenry Bqy Scouts are participating. Hie club asks that fishermen do not throw the small fish they catch back into the lake as it is over-populated with Small fish and this gives the others a chance to grow into eating size. They make excellent fertilizer feu* your favorite shrub or tree or what-have-you or just bury them in the field. BOWLING NEWS After an exciting night of bowling last Saturday in a sweepstakes event the champions ,are finally known. The Dreps took the first place and the happy team members are Bob Mathews, Ron Braun, Eleanor Haerle, and Pat Butler. In the Sweepers the girls were Mary Daurio with 99 pins over average, Shirley Koch with 93 over and Jo Mai with 71 extra pins. Petey Oakford and Betty Bockman were tied with 36 pins over average. The men did pretty good to with Ron Braun bowling a spectacular 97 pins over followed by Jerry Rogers with 56 extra pins, Jack Oakford with 50 and Ron Meurer with 47, The bowling ban- UTTLE LEAGUE • . Teams were chosen by the managers last week. Hie managers for the Major league are Jim Daurio, Braves; Bill Jaen-" icke, Orioles; Jim Wickenkamp, Pirates; and Ron Meurer, Tigers. The minor league man^ agers are, Bob Moore, Dodgers; Tony 1 Salviano, Phillies; Ron Biermaln, Twins; and Jack Oakford; Cardinals. The boys will be notifed by their managers as to the time and place of their practice. «, * The next Little League meeting will be held Wednesday, April 26, at 8 p.m. at the community house. Fathers of all boys are invited to come to these meetings which are held the fourth . Wednesday of each month. Any father who could help with coaching of their son's team should talk to his manager. Any help would be welcome. MISSING DOG BUREAU - Kathy Campo, the Pied Piper of dogdom, has come home with another dog who* just doesn't want to go back home. If anybody is missing their favorite canine please check with the Cantos. The current guest is big and is a light coffee color. Her mother Would appreciate a call from the owner of their new friend. ANNIVERSARY WALTZ Congratulations to Nedra and Les Eckhart on 27 years of wedded bliss on April 20. Until some new project % pops Up, that is. Holly Arient is back home -eating her fill of ice cream and popsicles after a tonsil yanking last Saturday at McHenry hospital. She was back on the go by Sunday. Jackie Creutz had a demonstration in her home last Friday evening which was attended by quite a few ladies who also enjoyed the cake and coffee. Among the guests were Lee Bujak, Juty Widhalm, Cathy Basely, Mrs. Skidmore, Mrs. Creutz, Mrs. Locke, Bernice Ehlert, Hazel Bowman, Nancy Bowman, Miss Mabel Ehlert and Carole Humann. Farewell to the Stupey family whq moved on Monday to their new home in Glen Ellyn, Steve and Beula Hoard cele- > brated their anniversary on Saturday night by going out to dinner with John and Lorraine Arient. The actual day was April 13 on which they marked off 22 years of'togetherness. They really had a good time on Saturday night and also stopped in at one of the local discotheques where they observed some of the dances? Jackie and Ron Creutz attended the Power Squadron dinner at Great Lakes on Saturday evening. Robbie Wickenkamp attended the State of Illinois Junior High Student Council convention held at Quincy on Friday and Saturday. He was one of four delegates from McHenry to attend. The kids had a terrific time and were guestsatamixer and went out to dinner. A lot of lectures and other business were also soheduled and the delegates had a pretty full weekend. Marty Apel had a belated, birthday celebration on April 8. His guests were served pizza at home and then went bowling. Helping him to remember the day were Norbie Kwiatek, Rob Wickenkamp, and Tom Kozicki. Donna Kwiatek is back home after a three month trip on the horse show circuit with Melinda Mass. They pulled a trailer with two horses for the three months and saw most of the southwestern states during their journey. Their horses won a good share of the prizes from the shows they entered and the girls xeally had a terrific time. THE STORK CLUB Bob and Carol Owens of Meadow Lane became the parents of a lovely baby girl dri April 10 at the Memorial hospital in Woodstock.
