Members of the congregations of Spring Grove Methodist church and All Saints Lutheran church were guests of parishioners of St. Peter's Catholic church. Pastors of these churches, the Rev. John Atherton of Methodist church, Rev. John Lundin of Lutheran church and Rev. John Kilduff of thfe Catholic church officiated in a "Bible Vigil." Passages from the bible were read and songs were sung in unison by the congregation. A film ."Foundation for Dialogue" was shown pertaining to the similarity of Faiths. There was an impressive Bible display with lighted, candles. The evening ended with a "get acquainted" hour and the serving of cake and coffee. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Members of the Christian Mothers society of St. Peter's met in the parish hall on Thursday night, An election was held for the offices of president and secretary for a two year term, Jean Kagan was voted in as president to replace retiring President Eva, Freund. The new secretary is Luella May who will take the place of Secretary Pat Rinda. Members were requested to attend the evening mass on May 4 at which time the officers will be introduced and new members will be installed. It was announced that a farewell party will be held for the nuns on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 on May 21. Aftejr the meeting all members took part in the Bible Vigil arranged by the program Chairman, Jean Kagan. USHERS MEET The regular. meeting of the ushers of St. Peter's parish was held at the home of Willard Bychowski on Wednesday night. LCWC The Lotus Country Woman's club held its last meeting of the year in the Methodist church house on Wednesday, April 19. Frances Shotliff and TinaKomar were hostesses. A one o'clock luncheon was served to nineteen members and a guest, Mrs. Neal Helbling who is visiting at the Arthur Helbling home, President Frances Heine man called for the slate of officers to be elected for the year 1967-. 1968. Frances Shotliff, chairman of the nominating committee, presented the slate --Beulah Karls, president; Wanda Todd, vice-president; Peggy. Buesseler, recording secretary; Harriet Olson, corresponding secretary; Margaret} Sergant, treasurer; Jeanette Helbling, auditor. Plans for the luncheon and card party at Hunter Country club on May 15 at noon was discussed. Also the trip to Marengo on May 24 for luncheon and play. The ladies will drive;' cars this year instead of hav-^ ing a bus. The program wa^ showing of slides by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kober stine of their various trips to foreign countries. CLUB NOTES * Mrs. Frances Heineman, Mrs. Susie Rudolph, Mrs. Nora Miller and Mrs. Frances Shotliff accompanied the Richmond Woman's club on their fund raising tour which ended with a two o'clock dinner at the American Legion Hall, April 11. Those who attended an all day meeting of the McHenry County Federation of Woman's clubs at Cary on April 12 were Harriet Olson, Pauline Horak, Frances Heineman, Susie Rudolph, Peggy Buesseler, Frances Kabot and Frances Shotliff. Members of her club were entertained at the home of Eva Freund on Thursday night, April 13. A dessert lunch was served. Games of five hundred were played and prizes were won by Dolores May, Emma May and Agnes May. Club will meetnext at the home of Luella; May. Their daughter La verne, the Robert Mfflftrs, 0NDER li EVELYN RASKE PHONE 653-4362 MO LINE AUTO CRASH TAKES LIFE OF CARY VOGT Gary Vogt, 27, died in an automobile accident April 19 in Moline, Gary was married to Lorileen Sorenson and is survived by two children. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Errtest Vogt, and a brother, Allen. CAPITOL CARAVAN Geri Ernst along with a hundred ladies of the Women's Republican Club from Lake and McHenry Counties participated in a C"Capitol Caravan" April 18 and 19. The ladies toured the historical sites of Springfield. Sitting in on the House and Senate sessions, the trip hit its high point when at the House session they were able to hear Governor Kerner deliver his budget speech. The Belvidere Kiwanis Club presented our club with the traveling gavel frozen in a half gallon of ice cream. Four members of their club made the inter-club meeting. Other guests were Bill Decker and Assistant Fire Chief Ed O'Brien. Bill Decker drew Ed have another boy in Coronado, Calif. The Millers have two boys. HOSPITALIZED Mrs. Fred May and Mrs. Dick Jung who have been hospital patients are recuperating. Mrs. June (Miller) Stripp underwent surgery last week. Her husband, who was stationed in Germany, obtained a month's leave and was allowed to come home. Heller's name for the battle ax award. This past Monday, President Phil Kinzer, Art Lau, Lennie Freund, Bob Myers and John Craig will attend the division meeting at DeKalb at which international President Glenn Reed will be the speaker. On -May 1 the Wonder Lake Explorer Scouts will present a program to the club. May 15 will be the merit award dinner at the Ringwood Methodist churfch. The Kiwanis Club will host a dinner picnic this summer for the community to honor the Wonder Lake Volunteer Firemen. Assistant Chief Ed O'Brien will work with the Kiwanis Club on the details. Gordy Gran presented the program which was a film showing our newest Navy weapon and new research. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION An Impromptu anniversary celebration for Connie and Doris Run? was held at Amy and Bud Street's home recently.
