President John Lanway began the meeting with the pledge followed by the secretary's report and the treasurer's report, which has a balance 'of $132.16 at present. Old business; John read a letter from Senator Robert Mc- Clory about the flag for the school. It will be here in another 3 or 4 weeks. This flag is one which has been flown over the Capitol in Washington D. C. and will be a 5 by 8 size for the school's flagpole. The possible places tovisit for the annual school trip was discussed to quite an extent. The teachers had talked over the plans and had decided on a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Those present suggested the Milwaukee Zoo and Galena. But since the teachers are the ones who know what the youngsters are studying at present it was unanimously decided onthe Museum. John will make the arrangement for the bus. This trip is planned for the first or second of May. Mothers who wish to go along as chaperones are asked to contact either John or Mrs. London at the school. New officers for the 1967-78 school, year were announced. Doris Low as president, Bettie Winston for vice-president and Claudia Garn for secretary and treasurer. A motion was made and seconded to accept these ladies for officers. Then came thediscusssionas to what to do about the graduation... We have five Ringwood youngsters who will graduate this year from McHenry junior high, and with no Ringwood graduation here either now or for the future, should there be a graduation social hour or not? There was much discussion about this; If there were to be a May meeting it was suggested to invite the grads and recognize them and have a social hour of cake and punch in their honor. But there is no May meeting scheduled. Then it was suggested to purchase corsages for each of the grads from the community club. The final decision was to send them a congratulatory card with an invitation to be sure to attend the picnic with their family and friends coming up in June. Clayton Bruce was announced to be the .member elected to board of directors for the Ringwood school in the recent election. Picnic? Yes, there's going, to be ofte this year. It will be held on June 4, Sunday at the Ringwood' school, more on the picnic will come in future column, closer to the date. The meeting was then closed. The / cake walk then began. , Cakes, cakes, cakes. All kinds and Stapes* each looking luscious, were offered to the winners of the cake walks. Eighteen in all were passed out before the night was over Thanks to all who baked a cake for the walk. Your jhelp was certainly appreciated. Without it the cake walk wouldn't have been possible. HOT LUNCHES On May 3, Helen Barker and Alice Rhoades will be serving hot dogs. On May 10, serving barbecues, Alice and Ruth Moehling. BIRTHDAYS v^Iappy birthday to Dorothy Tonyan who celebrates her natal day on April 29. And on May 2, happy birthday to Nellie Hepburn and Jay Walkington. Short column this week, isn't it?
