FRIENDLY TOWN "Dear Sir: "Summer vacations can be a time for leisurely activities or a time for family growth and enrichment. "McHenry area residents are being offered, what I feel is a valuable chance for personal and family growth in understanding variations in cultures and ethnic groiq>s through the Chicago City Missionary society's Friendly Town program. "Families in McHenry area may request one, two or three People who didn't pay last year's Personal Property taxes will be the next target of litigation by the McHenry county Treasurer's office, according to Treasurer Cal Skinner, Jr. Prior to this time the Treasurer's office has concentrated attention on individuals and businesses delinquent for more than one year and those delinquent for one year prior to 1965. Host families may specify the number of children they wishto entertain as well as the sex and ages of the children. Inter-ethnic children between 6 and 11 years of Catholic, Prostestant and Jewish faiths . are recommended for the program by Chicago churches and community organizations. The advantages for these Inner City children are many. The chance for first hand experience and knowledge of a different life style, a safe, health place to play and first hand understanding of our willingness to grant each human being the freedom of self-respect and control of his own destinyfreedoms we take so much for granted for ourselves. "The advantages for our children are also many, thfi most important of which maybe the chance to experience the reality that every child is a person despite any national or racial differences. The teaching and sharing of our joys and hopes and the expression of new horizons for these children will reinforce our joy in life. "As area chairman for the program I wish each McHenry family could take advantage of the program. Applications may be obtained from me. Interested families are invited to the slide program at 2 p.m. May 13 in Community Methodist church, Main and Center streets, McHenry. Babysitting service will be available free. The program is also active in Crystal Lake and Woodstock this summer. Sincerely yours, Mrs. Frank Templin 1817 Orchard Lane McHenry, 111. 385-7253 DRIVER INJURED Henry A.
