Ankara, Van was a member of the group with the British Hellenic Traverlers' club which arrived in Athens shortly before 7 a.m. April 23. The visitors to Athens were T M E World f Of • Pharmacy all lined up on the deck of their" ship ready to go ashore for a day that would' include ^visits to the Parthenon and other interesting parts of Athens and the area around Athens. The port was strangely silent and the dock area., usually jammed with parked cars..!was empty. ITien four soldiers, armed with machine guns, appeared and indicated that no one was to leave the ship. It was several hours later before the group learned that a military coup had occurred at midnight and that the army was still rounding up some 8,500 prisoners. The ship sat and sat and sat., no one allowed to land and the ship not permitted to sail. It was' more than 24 hours later that the permission to sail came through and the Ankara moved out. During the night sporadic ^Shooting could be heard...and the group was told that a 6:30 curfew had been put on and anyone out after that would be shot...There is still no way to find out whether anyone was killed because censors stoppped all the free press immediately after the coup. > The Ankara sailedontoBeirut and Van flew into the holy land for two days in Jerusalem; later stopped at Iskenderun, Alanya, and Antakya(old Ahtioch). Next year she says she is going to Turkey and visit the Hittite country. YOUTH DANCE The Youth Council is sponsoring a dance on Monday, May 29, at Christ the King hall from 8 to 11 o'clock. SORRY! Believe me, I fully realize how boringly tiresome the continual "anvil chorus" in favor of "getting there safely" becomes. But, how about thinking of the subject in a little different light? How about more and better recreation and less and less wreck-creation? If you think it's odd that I'm talking about a situation which brings business in our door, just remember we'd be glad to see a definite decline in our first aid department if the cause and necessity for it could be removed. So will you please drive as though your own family were in the other car? Please! BOLGER'S DRUG STORE 1259 N. Green....385-4500. There's a great lesson in blowing bubbles. We're so sure we can blow the biggest bubble ever blown. And, for a second, we're sure we have. Then the bubble is gone . . . with it our unreasoning self-confidence. So we content ourselves with blowing smaller bubbles --- the biggest smaller bubbles we can . . . the kind of bubbles that last awhile! The best time for your child to begin religious training is before he becomes conscious of his limitations. When he starts gradually to recognize the boundaries of his ability, he'll need real guidance and encouragement in devoting himself to goals which last awhile. The rich, full, happy, useful life is not wasted on shallow dreams that are but for the moment. It is dedicated to doing one's best. And, for centuries, it has been our Faith, taught and nurtured in our churches, which has inspired in men their best.
