CONFIRMATION AT LOCAL CHURCH Last Sunday fifteen young people were confirmed at the Ringwood Methodist church by Rev. Atherton of the Mt. Hope church with Rev. Ron Anderson assis&ng. Robin Fossum, Pam Low, Terry Cristy, Patty Christopher, Kimberly Street, Janice Pingelton, Priscilla Fossum, Colleen Harvey, Mike Pifljgelton, Mark Decker, Mike.. Grosman, Ray Low, John Rupp, Lawrence Kamp, Richard Blend were members of the class. They then went to Mt. Hope Methodist church for the confirmation of their group. Mike, Susie and little Mike Hogan moved in with her folks, the Sigurd Jacobsens, so John and Ila could stay on the farm and reside in the trailer. All are back in their own homes now. FIRST COMMUNION AND BAPTISM It was aryi important day in the lives of Vernie and Michael Perrin on Sunday. They are the grandsons of Peg and John Scharf, and sons of the Lavern Perrins. Vernie "received his First Holy Communion at the 12 noon Mass in Christ The King Catholic church in Wonder Lake where Michael Scott Perrin was baptized by Father Vanderpool with Darlene and Warner Benson as Godparents. All were taken out to a smorgasboard dinner at Solon Mills. Included were the Scharfs, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Perrin, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Walsch of Mundelein, Vein's Godparents, Connie, LaVerne and their children, Vern, Greg, Mike, Vicki andSster Angelina, their teacher of religion also joined them. Following the dinner, the Scharf, Walsches and Perrins returned to the Perrin home and got in a little fishing. BOY SCOUTS CAMPED OUT The Boy Scouts of Wonder Lake Fox Patrol including Ray Low, leader; Ed Betts assistant and David Betts, scribe; Luke Ackerman, Andy Fossum, Kenny Mgehling, and Steve Harvey spent the weekend camping out. LAST OF THE HOT LUNCHES On May 31, Mary Baker and Phyllis Ackerman are scheduled to serve hot dogs to the Ringwood students. This is the last week of the lunches for this school year, and I would like to thank each and every one of the ladies who took the time to help with the serving. Without your help, these children would not have the chance to have a hot sandwich one day a week. Thanks again, ladies. Once more we wduld like to extend our sincere congratulations to the four merit winners. ANNIVERSARY HAPPINESS Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! was the greeting for Clarence and Lucille Smith last Thursday evening, May 18, as several of their friends and relatives converged on their home.The Smiths thought they had a dinner date with one of the couples but as you can tell by now, it was a "put-up" jOb. The nine couples came into the driveway blowing horns and making the most noise possible to add to the surprise visit. Joining in on the anniversary fun were; Messers and Mesdames Joe Schmitt, Stanley Schmitt, Henry Schmitt, Richard Sehmitt, Steve Schmitt, Harry Smith, Leo King, Charles Deidrich and Gerald Freund. Thehippy grot^reaUy came with their arms loaded with gifts and fine food. Needless to say they all had a real happy, happy time. By the way this was in celebration of Clarence and Lucille's tenth wedding anniversary. Earlier that afternoon the Smiths had another nice surprise, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, Mrs. Kate Pepping and Mrs. Mamie King dropped in to deliver their happy anniversary wishes personally. They had been to Clarence's father's House, John Smith, who was observing his ninety-second birthday on this date also. On May 16 oyr family joined forces with the Pechous family, Roger, Gloria, Pam, Roger, Jr., and Sherry, for dinner in Wilmot in observance of our seventeenth wedding anniversary. Although we were a couple of days late in celebrating, it did not hinder any of us from having a good time, tt was a most enjoyable evening spent with our children. JUNIOR FORESTER NOTES At the May meeting of the Junior members of St. Agatha court No. 777, seventy-one members were in attendance. Marilyn Michels was chosen to crown the Blessed Virgin in the May Crowning ceremony which was part of this month's meeting. Later the girls gathered to play games followed by the serving of refreshments. The members who are going swimming on June 3 stifcwl* sure to be at St. John's school by 12:30 p.m. Please don't be late. - " • Those members who areparticipating in the outing toROckford on June 9 areaskedtobeat the school promptly at 8:30 a.m. They are planning to return to the school by 5:30 that evening. Slacks may not be worn on this outing. Each girl going on this outing is asked to bring her own lunch and some money as a step may be made at a hamburger stand on the way home if there is time. ENTERTAINS OHIO VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Ray BUgner, nnrf son, Douglas, of Fostoria, Ohio, spent several days in the home of Arnie and Clara Michels this past week. They also visited many of their other relatives and friends during their short stay. The Bugners stopped off here on the way back from Colorado Springs where they witnessed the graduation of their son, A2/c John Bugner from prep school there.
