Eight concerts will be presented throughout the vacation period, featuring soloists from the band as well as a variety of guest performers. For the first program, Mayor Donald P. Doherty will officially launch the new season with a brief talk. The eightean-member band, directed by Stanley Vycital, will be heard in music papular in the era of the Big Bands. Their repertoire includes new arrangements of old favorites, tunes from the movies and Broadway hits. Joseph Etten is chairman of the band committee for the City Council. The seris of evangelistic services will begin with a fcisn's prayer breakfast Sunday mornir$ j. The regular Sunday services apd evening services at 7:30 will be conducted by the men of the two churches. The singing will be led by Rev. Jerry Ford of the First Baptist church of Harvard. The group from the Southlawn Baptist church of Amarillo consists of four families and three additional men. Some have been in the McHenry area for the past two weeks, laying the ground work for the coming revival and also helping with a similar revival and Vacation Bible •qhool in the Baptist chapel in Richmond. These families are using their vacation time to work in this area. The week-long revival will be climaxed Sunday,, June 18, with a fellowship dinner in celebration of the sixth anniversary of the local church, ft was on June 18, 1961, that the first service was held by this group., At this time they were meeting in a store building on West Main. Since that time the present building has been erected. Just recently the second unit of educational space was added to the sanctuary located south of town on Route 31. Virgle Chappell, pastor, extends an invitation to all to attend the services next week.
