Miss Susan Murray Robert Smith Wed In Faith Church The first wedding in the newly constructed Faith Presbyterian church united in marriage Miss Susan Patricia Murray, 5200 W. Maple Hill drive, McCullom Lake, and Mr. Robert W.Smith, 3703 W. Maple street, McHenry, last Saturday, at 4p.m. Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murray, McCullom Lake, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Smith, Sr., of McHenry. The Rev. John O. Mclrrtyre officiated at the double ring ceremony. White glatfioli and roses were used for the church dscorctions. Escorted by her the lovely young briife was radiant in a floor lecgth gcrera of chan- HHy lace over brxdiil taffeta. The bodice featured a scalloped neckline and long eclge lace. Four tiers of scalloped edge lace formed the skirt and dispel train. Her gown had a separate jacket with bridal point sleeves and her imported illusion bouffant veil was held in place with a crown of crystal and pearls. Miss Murray's bouquet was white carnations and orchid in cascade. The bride's cousin, Miss Judith Murray of Chicago, was maid of honor and Marrilou Smith and Mrs. Anton (Kathleen Murray) Cajthaml were bridesmaids. The young women ware floor length gowns of hot pink chiffon over lace sheaths. Each bodice was fashioned with an oval neckline and three-quarter length sleeve. Hie chiffon coats featured cowl collars. Headpieces were of matching fabric in color petals and butterfly veils. They carried colonial bouquets of carnations and hot pink roses. Dennis Birmingham served as best man, Richard Radner and George Loser were groomsmen, with Elmer Glosson, Jr. and Paul Karls serving as ushers. All reside in McHenry. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Murray chose a green crepe sheath with lace inserts and matching accessories. Mrs. Smith wore a sheath dress of pink crepe with a matching lace coat and complementing accessories. Three hundred and fifly guests met at the Johnsburg Community club for the wedding reception. Hie wedding cake was made in four tiers, trimmed with hot pink roses. Following their wedding trip - north, the newly wedded couple will make their home at 4305 W. Sioux lane, McHenry, Apartment 4. The new Mrs. Smith was graduated from McHenry high school in 1963 and also graduated from Moser Business college. She is employed at McHenry State Bank. The groom is a 1962 graduate of McHenry Ugh school, attended Elgin Jr. college and is employed locally. MATTHEW EICHINGER Miss Judith Anne Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen Lee of 1216 Snowdon drive, Knoxville, Tenn., became the lovely bride of Mr. Matthew Stephen Eichinger of 501 N. Mineral Springs, McHenry, son of Mrs. Virginia Eichinger of McHenry and Mathius Eichinger of Chicago. Hie wedding took place in the Fountain City Methodist church, Knoxville, Tenn., at7:30clock on Thursday, June 8, with Dr. Thomas F. Chilccle officiating. Special music was furnished by Miss Anne Osborne of Athens, Tenn., whose offering was "Hold Thou My Hand". The church was decorates? for the occasion with one white altar arrangement and two large candelabrum. Miss Lee chose a gown of light ivory peau de sole and alencon lace, styled with fitted empire bodice of alencon lace and featuring a high neckline and short sleeves. The skirt was fashioned along princess lines, the neckline forming a low V in the back, enhanced with a full chapel length train flowing from under a tailored bow. Her veil of tiered, imported silk illusion fell from a cluster of organza and lace petals. She carried a bouquet of white baby's breath, stephanotis, white roses and pink rose accents. Attending her were Miss Irene Lee of Knoxville, Tenn., her sister, as maid of honor and Miss Debby Smith ofMurfreesboro, Tenn., and Miss Catty Furbeck of Knoxville. They were attired similarly in floor «j£ngth dresses of pink organza over taffeta. The fitted bodices featured a scoop neckline and bell shaped white organdy sleeves adorned with daisies. The skirt was A line. They wore . matching headpieces of pink bows with bouffant veils and carried bouquets of white baby's breath and pink sweetheart roses. Joseph Eberlein of Chicago, brother of the groom, served as best man and groomsmen were Michael Reese of McHenry and Paul Brooke of Oak Park. Mrs. Lee selected a street length dress of moss green in chiffon, with lace bodice. The groom's mother wore a street length dress of aqua chiffon. Twenty-five guests enjoyed breakfast at 11 o'clock that day at the Cherokee Country club, Knoxville. A reception for 100 followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The couple left later cm a trip to Florida. They will return to make their home at 3311 Canary street, Knoxville, Tenn. The bride is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She is a former junior assistant buyer at Rich's, Atlanta, Ga. The groom attended Michigan State university and will be graduated from the University of Tennessee in August of this year. Patricia O'Malley To Marry June 17 ' try club on Wednesday, June 21, at noon, Herbert R. Duenow of Prairie View, 111, will entertain member^ and their guests with a program entitled "The Jury Returns." Mr. Duenow is the originator'of the dramatic technique in literary presentation. He possesses a rare combination of talents and gifts which have made him one of the nation's leading book reviewer*. He reached a literary landmark in November of 1954 when he presented his one-hundredth different book from the same review platform at the Ivanhoe Park Congregational church in Kansas City, Mb. His series started in October of 1942. Mr.Duenow became minister of the Pilgrim Congregational church in Oak Park in 1955. He started his fourteenth consecutive book review season in the Chicago area in October of that year. He terminated his Oak Park pastorate by giving his 136th book of his career in November of 1962. Mr. Duenow became pastor of the Congregational church Half Day, 111., on Dec. 1, 1962. Book reviews for the public of all faiths are presented Sunday nights of October, November, Feburary, March and April. Mr. Duenow repeats the identical review each Sunday at 8 p.m. for the entire month, presenting a new book each month. Mr. Duenow makes it a practice to review thei best sellers after the literary critics, have accepted a particular book as as legitimate literature. Review advertisements appear on the Saturday church pages of two Chicago newspapers under "United Church of Christ" (Congregational, Half Day). Mrs. Frank Gans will be chairman of the day, with Mrs. Donald Gerlitz on hand as luncheon hostess. MILLERS OBSERVE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY Mr. and Mr s. Joseph J. Miller observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary last Sunday, June 11, when a Mass in their honor was read at St. Mary's church at 5 o'clock, followed by a family gathering at their home on Waukegan road. A social evening was enjoyed and refreshments served. OLSEN Mr. and Mrs. Einar K. Olsen of 317 N. Front street, McHenry, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary earlier this month at the Legion home, with more than 100 persons attending. The Olsens have resided in McHenry for almost twenty years. Before his retirement Mr. Olsen operated a blacksmith shop on Front street. A highlight of the celebration was the fact that the same orchestra which played for the Olsens' silver wedding anniversary party in Chicago twentyfive years ago Was alsopresent to play for this memorable event.
