Her husband, George, preceded her death. Mrs. Bohr was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Christian. Mothers society of St. Mary's church. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home until Wednesday morning at 10:30, when a funeral Mass was sung in St. Mary's church, cemetery. Larry E. Outside McHenry County Observe Golden Wedding MR. AND MRS. EARL MCANDREWS Mr. and Mrs. Earl McAndrews enjoyed a pleasant celebration in observance of their golden wedding anniversary last Sunday. Following a Mass at 2:30 at St. Patrick's Catholic church, read by Rev. L.J. Guzzardo and assisted by Rev. David Beauvais, a reception for 100 guests and family members was held at the Legion home. Open house for friends and neighbors in the evening was attended by about 200 persons. Acolytes for the afternoon Mass were the couple* s grandchildren, Patrick and John McAndrews. Guests joined the honored couple at the evening festivities in dancing. They were presented with many lovely gifts from those who attended from McHenry and out-of-town. Guests from away included Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Marisha and daughter, Rosemary, Mrs. Rose Marisha and Mrs. Walter Bonnett of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Alice Soutar of St. Peter, Minn., Miss Mary Kinney and Mrs. Kathryn Dask of Wayzata, Minn., Dr. and Mrs. Wilbert Pape, Joan and Joey, of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Struck and family of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Parchman of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Morgan of Highland Park, Miss Elizabeth Keough of Anthony, Texas, Miss Mary Keough and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keough of Mundelein, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moran of Highland Park, Mr. and Mrs. William Walsh of Crystal Lake, Mrs. W.J. July 16 For Annual Picnic PHILIP O'CONNOR A funeral Mass was sung Monday morning in St. Christina Catholic church, Chicago, tor Philip L. O'Connor, 78, of rural Spring Grove, who died June 22 in his home. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, Chicago. Mr. O'Connor had resided in the Spring Grove community for the past ten years. He was retired after thirty-three years with the Chicago Fire department. Survivors are his widow, Rose; daughter, Mrs. George Whitney of Fox Lake; three sons, Philip of Miami, Fla., Robert of Chicago and Jack of Fox Lake; nine grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Earl Doran, of Westchester, Calif. The body rested at the Hamsher Chapel in Fox Lake. MARIO CIMA A funeral Mass was sung in Transfiguration Catholic church, Wauconda, Saturday for Mario B. Cima, 65, of Circle drive, Island Lake, who died June 20 in McHenry hospital. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors are the widow, Frances; a son, Mario, of Chicago; a daughter, Marilyn, at home; two brothers, William of New York and Albert of New Jersey; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Hunter, of New Jersey. The body rested at the Wauconda funeral home. ' Notices are being mailed to all members of the McHenry County Historical society, inviting them to the second annual picnic, to be held Sunday, July 16, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Trankle, on East Silver Lake road, which is a continuation of east Crystal Lake Road, Cary. Anyone else interested in what the Historical society is endeavoring to do in the preservation of the history of the county is also invited. On request, last year's program calling for each one to bring some heirloom and tell of its origin and history in the family, will be repeated. There will be a public address system this year so all can hear. In addition, it is hoped to have a paper read about some early activity or industry in the county. Each succeeding' year officers would like one early enterprise covered. There were saw mills, feed mills, brick factories, butter and cheese factories and pickle factories. All these should be written up and told about and refresh the memories of those who still remember some of them. The society will do all it can to help anyone gather information if they will undertake to tell about one of these Enterprises and also bring old photographs of these various mills, shops, etc. Hie boulder that will mark the site of the Sam Gillilan cabin at Algonquin has been picked out. It is a dark gray with a bright band of pink, about three'inches wide, running through it. It is being given and moved to Algonquin. It will be set in a slab of concrete and a bronze plaque attached to it.. Dedication is planned in August. GERTRUDE SCHWANKE Last rites were conducted Saturday from the George R. Justen & Son funeral home for Mrs. Gertrude Schwanke, 55, of 3015 S. Holiday drive, McHenry, who died June 21 in Cook County hospital, Chicago, where she had been confined for five weeks. Burial was in Woodland cemetery. The deceased was born Jan. 30,1912, in Germany and since 1954 had resided in this community. Survivors include her husband, Bernard; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Helga) Legler of Plainfield, Mrs. John (Litzi) Buck of Camp Pendleton, Calif., and Mrs. Klaus (Brunhide) Franzke, McHenry; a son, Axel, of McHenry and six grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War I, past president of the Lake County Farm Bureau, which he served as director for forty years; secretary for the Lake-Cook Farm Supply, of which he was director twentyfive years; past master of Wauconda Ledge, AF & AM; past patron of Mayflower lodge, O.E.S.; and trustee for the Wauconda Fire Protection district serving as secretary twentyfive years. Besides his widow, Mabel; he leaves two sons, Robert of Palatine and Lyle of McHenry; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Frank of Hartland and Earl of Itasca; and a sister, Gladys Stanek, Crystal Lake. MARYE. LILLEY Funeral services willbe conducted at St. Patrick's Catholic church Saturday morning at 9:30 for Miss Mary E. Lilley, 57, who died in McHenry hospital Tuesday, June 27. Her only survivor is a nephew, Albert Lilley, of Allendale, N.J. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home until the time of last rites. Burial was in St. Patrick' s cemetery. Wendt home at West Shore Beach was shot out, according to a report made to the sheriffs office last Saturday. TELEVISION STOLEN A television was reported stolen from the home of Olga Kunstadt of Wonder Lake, with discovery made as she arrived at her residence last week.^ MCHENRY HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kucek of Wauconda are parents of a daughter June 20. A son was born June 20 to Mr. and Mrs. Horst Henning of Wauconda. On June 20 a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bull of Wauconda. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Matting ly of Wonder Lake became parents of a daughter June 20. A son was born June 21 to Mr. and Mrs. William Bukovsky. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kaylor announce the birth of a son June 22. A daughter was born June 23 to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Snyder. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herdrich, Sr. are the proud great-grandparents. Mrs. Herdrich is the former Frances Mayfield. On June 21 Mr. and Mrs. Gary Barber of Wonder Lake became parents of a son. Mr. and Mrs. William Janke are parents of a son June 20. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Milton Croasdale on June 20. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Thiel are parents of a daughter June 20.
