Gary Vycital arrived home toy plane, Saturday, after a month's training at summer ramp at Guenther Air Force 4ase. * Sisters Arcadia and Jeremia liave returned to their home in Xampbellsport, Wis., after a several days visit with relatives ' here where they attended the Blake reunion and had the pleasure of seeing more than 200 of their relations. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blake motored to Campbell sport with them. Walter Lobitz of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Alma Schnarrar of Tulsa, Okla., were here to attend the funeral of their brother, Rev. Carl Lobitz, last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Bolger and daughter, Michelle, of Harrisburg, Pa., arrived last Friday by plane for a ten day visit with his mother, Mrs. John Bolger, and other relatives here. • Mr. and Mrs. George Larkin have returned from an enjoyable vacation in which they visited the Canadian Exposition, Quebec and Niagara Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green and sons, Brian and Jeff, friends from Stockton, where they formerly resided, were surprise over-night quests of the Richard Snyder family Wedneday of last week. Miss Judy Conway of Malmo, Sweden, who is spending some„ time with her mother, Mrs. Robert Conway, is attending the Stone Camryn School of Ballet in Chicago this summer. Mrs. Kathleen 0'Callahan of Chicago and sister, Mrs. Ruth Thorm of Hollywood, Fla., were guests in the home of their cousin, Mrs. Marie Larkin, last Wednesday. It was the latter's first visit here in many years. Other relatives who joined them for luncheon and an afternoon of reminiscing were Mrs. May Powers, Mrs. Mabel Powers and Mrs. Mary Powers. Miss Gerry Restivo and Miss Joan Adams of Chicago were visitors in the Home of the latter*s mother, Mrs. Alfons Adams, over the Fourth of July holiday. On Saturday with Mrs. Adams, they attended the wedding reception of Delores Hyatt and Joseph Berenyi in Aurora. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt, former McHenry residents. Mrs. Rita Ulrich, Mrs. Elvina Latimer and Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas were Sunday visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ulrich in St. Charles where the birthdays BAKE, RUMMAGE SALE BENEFITS RETARDED GROUP The McHenry County Association for Retarded Children announces a bake and rummage sale, to be held at the Zion Lutheran church, 4206 W. Waukegan Rd. (Route 120), McHenry, on July 13 and 14,from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Household items, white elephants, good used clothing for all the family and toys will be available in large quantities. Delicious baked goods will be for sale as long as they are available. The association is the sponsor of the work-activites center at the old Terra Cotta school on EdgwoodRoad, Crystal Lake. All proceeds from this sale will go for operating expenses at the center. Anyone desiring to make donations for the sale or assist call Mrs. W. Pierce, 385-1238 or Mrs. W. Patzke, 385-3278 by Monday, July 10. Frank Prem, president of the McHenry County Association for Retarded Children, announces the appointment of Robert G. Lam bourn to the new position of executive director, who assumed the duties of the office on July 1. This is an oustanding achievement of the association. The Board of Directors is indeed grateful to the people of McHenry County as their affirmative support of the referendum extending county aid to the mentally retarded last spring has been a major point in the decision to hire Mr. Lambourn. Civil Service Exams Given For Academies The United States Civil Service commission will conduct a written examination on Tuasday, July 11, for candidates for appointment to the United States Air Force academy, the United States Merchant Marine academy, the United States Military academy, and the United States Naval academy. The test will be held at 8:30 a.m. fn room 103, United States Post Office, 66 Grove Court, Elgin; American Legion Home, 501 - Washington Street, Waukegan; and Olson School Library, 720 West Gaudd, Woodstock. There will be a make-ip examination on Tuesday, Aug. 22 for those candidates who can- , not report for the July 11 test. Congressman Robert Mc- Clory urges all young men whose applications are on file with him for the class of 1972 to participate in the July 11 examination. The Monday bus trips continue through August 14 and youngsters seven through thirteen are welcome to register for any one or more of the six remaining trips. The day camp program will continue with three new periods on July 10, July 24, and August 7. There are vacancies in all three periods for campers in second through eighth grades. Boys and girls are bused from locations near their homes to the Deer Grove camp site in Palatine for the mornings' activities, and to the Northwest Suburban YMCA in Des Plaines for swimming and related programs. Chartered bus steps are made at the McHenry Junior high school, YMCA Woodstock and Crystal Lake Program Centers, and at East Main Street and Route 14 in Cary. Swimming instruction classes conducted at the Thunderbird Farm pool, Route 14 and Three Oaks Road, Cary, for boys and girls 7 to 15 continue to have some vacancies in certain classes available during new periods which begin July 11, July 25, and August 8. Tiny tot swim classes are taught at theR.H. Goss pool, 7105 Virginia Road, Crystal Lake, aiMi Will begin again on July 11, 2$, and August 8 fiwFYoungsters 3 to 6 years old. These classes are limited to six students per instructor, and an adult or teen-ager is required to be in the pool with the child. Route 120 McHenry, I1L Summer Theatre Program Offers Second Play The summer theatre program at the Woodstock Opera House is well underway with its second production of the season. Over 100 third graders through college age students are enrolled for the thirteenth week session. The first production of the season, a 1918 temperance melodrama, "Ten Nights In a Barroom" was well received by near capacity audience last weekend. The second play of the season "Look Back In Anger" is now is rehearsal and is scheduled for presentation July 13, 14 and 15. Curtain time for all three evenings is 8 p.m. The play, written by John Osborne, one ofEnglands'sbest known ' 'angry young men", first opened in 1956 at the famed Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, LondorCIts U.S. premiere was at New Haven, Connecticut's Schubert Theatre, where many plays open betttre 5 their New York runs. -.<>• As a change of pace from the opening melodrama, "Look Back In Anger" is a psychological and philosophical drama.
