A reception and luncheon for 150 guests followed the ceremony at the Detroit Boat club, after which the couple left for a honeymoon trip to Wisconsin. Upon their return they will reside in Champaign. The groom graduated from Northwestern university in 1965 and now attends law school at the University of Illinois. JESSUP A wedding of interest locally was solemnized in Christ Episcopal church, Detroit, Mich., Saturday, Aug. 19, when Miss Julia Bowman Smith, daughter of Chester W. Smith of 1300 Lafayette East, Detroit, Mich., and the late Mrs. Smith, exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Robert William Jessup, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Jessup, of 415 N. Country Club drive, McHenry. Rev. Mr. Timothy Haynes and Rev. Mr. John Carlton officiated at the 11 o'clock cereL mony. Pretty Miss Smith approached the altar wearing a white, silk faced, peau de soie gown with empire waist and sleeves accented with re-embroidered alencon lace. Her matching mantilla of re-embroidered alencon lace formed her train and she carried a bouquet con - sisting of six phalaenopsis orchids and variegated ivy. Mrs. John W. Stark of Corpus Christie, Texas, was matron of honor for her sister and bridesmaids were Miss Irene Bernstein of LaGrange, 111., and Miss Suzanne Dereng of Chicago. They were attired similarly in floor length, melon, silk shantung dresses. TV -V' " EASTER SEAL PLANS SECOND SUPER RESALE ,The super re-sale event sponsored by the Easter Seal women's auxiliary of the McHenry county chapter of the Illinois Association of the Crippled Inc., will be held at the Crystal Lake recreational building Tuesday, Oct. 10. Two years ago the same sale was held, and was so papular that it was decided to sponsor it every two years. This announcement' was made at a meeting of the auxiliary held at the home of Mrs. Joseph Conerty at Woodstock last week under the direction of the president, Mrs. Jack Williams of Crystal Lake. ^General chairman is Mrs. B.B. Neuchiller of Woodstock assisted by Mrs. Robert Emery of Woodstock as co-chairman. Iter committee chairman include Mrs. Donald Swanson of McHenry. In other action at the auxiliary meeting the following were announced as the winners of the Chrjstmas card designs contest: Michael Burnighan of Woodstock Community high school, first; Bill Simons of Crystal Lake high school, second; and Jean Mikkelsen of Harvard high school, third. This contest was open to high school art students across the county. Christmas cards are now being sold by auxiliary members as well as board members of the Easter Seal society. FREUND Miss Carole Ann Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Meyer of 3673 Herbert avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio, became the lovely bride of Mr. Neil F. Freund, son of Mrs. Bernard A. Freund of 2114 W. Church street, McHenry, and the late Mr. Freund, on Saturday, Aug. 19, in a noon wedding ceremony solemnized in St. Martin of Tours church, Cincinnati. Rev. Philip Seher officiated at the nuptial rite. Large bowls filled with white violet and pink asters and mums decorated the alters. The bride walked down the aisle wearing an ivory gown of English net over peau de soie, styled with high waist accented by a bow. The entire dress was trimmed in reembroidered lace, with skimmer skirt and chapel train of peau de soie. A bonnet of tucked organza trimmed with lace and seed pearls held a four-tier illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of roses, phalaenopsis and elegance carnations. Miss Linda Lange of Sandusky, Ohio, acted as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Caryn Crandall of Indianapolis, Ind., and Miss Therese Roth of Cincinnati. They were attired in petal pink cage dresses trimmed with lace flowers. Their veils were helcl by large organza bows and they carried colonial bouquets of purple asters and lavender mums. Miss Ann Moehling of McHenry, niece of the groom, was the pretty flower girl, wearing a pale pink gown accented with a petal pink velvet bow. The bow in her hair matched that of her dress and she carried a basket of the same flowers as the older attendants. Thomas Morris of Pittsburg, Pa., acted as best man and ushers were L.Bernard Freund -of Evanston and Arnold J. Freund of Rolling Meadows. Her corsage was of cymbidium orchids. Mrs. Freund was attired in a celery green shift, trimmed with white lace. Iter accessories were in matching color and she wore a corsage of ivory cymbidium orchids. Luncheon/followed the ceremony at trae Versailles room of Shuller's Wigwam for 150 guests. The couple left on a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., and upon their return will reside in Ada, Ohio. Both young people are graduates of the University of Dayton, Mr. Freund with a B.A. degree and his wife with a B.S. degree. She is an elementary school teacher. Her husband is a law student at Ohio Northern university. ON DEAN'S LIST Gary J. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold O. Anderson, 3905 W. Kane avenue, McHenry, has been named on the dean's list at Parks College of Aeronautical Technology of Saint Louis university for the spring trimester which ended Aug. 1, 1967. Heisagraduate of Marian Central high school, Woodstock. THOMAS CUSACK CLAIMS CHICAGO GIRL AS BRIDE Queen of All Saints Basilica church, Chicago, was the setting for a beautiful wedding on Saturday, Aug. 19, when Miss Kathleen Anne Quinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Quinn of 5762 N. Kercheval avenue, Chicago, became the bride of Mr. Thomas F. Cusack, HI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Cusack of 3005 N. Oakwood, McHenry. Rev. Gavin H. Quinn, O. Carm., brother of the bride, officiated at the llo'clock double ring ceremony. The pretty bride selected a white, organza, floor length gown with scalloped neckline trimmed in chantilly lace and pearls. It was styled with short chantilly lace sleeves and the same trim on the bodice, and an A-line skirt. Her circular train was edged with the same type lace and made into a bustle for the reception. Lace and pearl appliques highlighted the dress. Her ballerina length veil fell from a chantilly lace and pearl headpiece which featured lace scalloped edges. Attending her were Mrs. James L. Holian, Jr., of Richmond, her sister, as matron of honor and Miss Barbara Cusack of McHenry, Miss Barbara Keraer of Lincolnwood, Miss Joan Mitchell and Miss Elizabeth Bereznak of Chicago as bridesmaids. They were attired in blue crepe dresses, floor length, styled sleeveless, empire cut and A-line skirt. Shoulder trains extended to the floor, with bows at the top of the train and under the bodice. They wore matching shoes of peau de soie. Each carried a cascade of white glamellias tipped in the same shade of pale blue as the dresses. John Boyle of McHenry served as best man and groomsmen were Gene Glosson of McHenry, brother-in-law of the groom, Gary Weber of Mt. Prospect, John Quinn, Jr., and James A. Quinn, brothers of the bride, of Chicago. a Mrs. Quinn chose for her daughter's wedding a raw silk, peach-colored coat dress, with beading, with which she wore a white tulle beaded hat and white orchid corsage. Mrs. Cusack was attired in a shocking pink .brocade coat dress, with matching accessories and a white orchid corsage. A reception at Hyatt House, AUG. 24, 1967 - PLAINDEALER - SEC. Their first home will be an apartment at 628 W. Harrison, Oak Park. The bride is a graduate of Regina high school in Wilmette and her husband of McHenry high school. They met while both were attending Loyola university. He was a member of Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity, senior class vice-president and a member of Blue Key national honorary fraternity and "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities." His wife w&3 a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority and attended Loyola's center in Rome, Italy, for her entire sophomore year. The bride will teach fifth grade in St. Barbara's school, Brookfield, and her husband, who is attending night classes at John Marshall school of law, Chicago, will teach Junior high school in Brook Park school. NAME REBA OWEN NEW CHAPEAU FOR 8 AND 40 SALON The McHenry American Legion home on Ringwood road was the scene of a colorful installation program for the new officers of McHenry County Salon, No. 483, of the 8 and 40, last Sunday evening. Heading a list of about forty- , five members and guests was the Illinois department chapeau, Miss Dorothy Hinson, of Madison, HI., who acted as the principal installing officer. She was assisted in the impressive installation by two members of the local salon, Mrs. May Chesak of Huntley, acting as chaplain, and Mrs. Emily Vick of Harvard, as Concierge. The officers installed were Reba Owen, chapeau; Christine Nixon, la demi petite chapeau May Chesak, chaplain; Pearl Pietsch, historian; Ercel Lock, concierge; and Minnie Meyer," secreatary-treasurer. Miss-; Hinson surprised the incoming - chapeau, Mrs. Owen, by pre--^ senting her with the same gavel * her husband, Pat Owen, hadused£ when he had been commander;' of the Veterans of World War; I. p Preceding the installationceremonies a delicious dinner' was served at tables exquisite-- ly decorated in the red and white colors of the 8 and 40. The ladies had individual corsages, and tiny baskets with red and white flowers marked each: place setting. At the head; table was a bowl of red andwhite carnations. Miss Hinson's talk following' the installation ceremonies' stressed the continuing need! for earnest work by each salon' throughout the state to devote time and effort and to raise funds to combat the damage from tuberculosis and cystic fibrosis among children. In Miss Hinson* s party were her departmental secretary, Miss Fannie Ullrich; Mrs. Loretta Stringer, a past departmental chapea J; Miss Opal Helman, chapeau of the Madison county (111.) salon; and tyliss Hinson's close friend, Mrs. Gertrude Henke, of Wilmette.
