Bridwell, USN, son of Mj*. .And Mrs. Clifford Bridwell of *3816 Shady lane, Wonder Lake, . is in the Pacific serving aboard the anti-submarine warfare support aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. The aircraft carrier recently pulled out of drydock after completing four months of extensive overhaul. While in the Pacific she will be the command ship of a "hunter- killer" group specializing in anti-submarine warfare. C- Seaman Recruit James L. Waller, in, 19, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Waller of 1918 N. Lakewood street, McHenry, was graduated from nine wyeks of Navy basic training at the Naval Training center, Great Lakes. „ His training was highlighted by participating in mid-America's "Salute to the Flag" ceremonies held at Soldier Field in Chicago. He was one of the more than 10,000 Navymen who formed a human "Living Flag" in honor of all men and women who are, or have been, in the U.S Armed Forces. During his training he stud- Jed military subjects and lived ^nd worked under conditions similar to those ho will encounter on his first ship or at his first duty station. He also received instruction in seamanship, survival techniques, military drill and ot'ior related subjects.
