Mrs. Larry (Neva) Fuhrer, a C/F parent, 7401 Center Drive, Wonder Lake, is the McHenry county chairman. Tho it is considered one of the most common chronic, and serious i" sease of childhood, no cure has yet been found. Funds are urgently needed for research arid for better treatment of patients. VISIT FORMER PASTOR Arthur "Butch" Olsen, Mrs. Willard Schultz, McHenry, and Mrs. Norman Williams, Jr., attended church Services in Glenview, Sept. 3 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran church, where Pastor W.L. Thummel is assistant pastor. Pastor Thummel will be remembered as being pastor of Nativity Lutheran church, 1961-1964. Pastor Thummel will be guest speaker for the confirmation reunion service and banquet at Nativity 4 in October as part of the fifteenth anniversary program. NATIVITY LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS Pastor's information class which begins Sunday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the pastor's study is for those persons interested in membership as well as those persons interested in learning about Christianity and the Lutheran church. If you know of any interested party please notify Pastor Johnson soon. Friday, Sept. 8, and Saturday, Sept. 9, have been designated as 'Houseclejning Days' at the church. This is intended for both the men and the women of the church. We would like to have the facilities clean for confirmation Sunday and for the anniversary events that lie ahead. Bring rags, buckets, ladders, vacuum cleaners, etc., needed for cleaning. Those women and men who plan to stay over the noon hour are asked to bring a sack lunch. Coffee, milk and cake will be served. Let's turn out in force! The church is still looking for pictures from 1961 to be put into the anniversary booklet, anyone having any pictures please get them to Pastor Johnson as soon as possible as they are trying to finish up the book. The Lutheran Church Women (LCW) will have their first meeting of the new season on Monday, Sept. 11, in the church social hall at 8 p.m. An interesting program is planned for all. Be sure to have your children present for the first day of the new Sunday church school term. Begin your youth the first Sunday and then bring 0 them regularly. We have made a great effort to increase our teaching staff to provide the childreh of Nativity with a good' Christian education but we cannot teach if the youth are absent. Begin the new year determined to have your youth present every Sunday. The regular Thursday evening Mid-Week service of worship will return to the 7 p.m. time Sept. 7. This will continue through the winter months.
