Calhoun street, Woodstock, and shown by the McHenry County Historical society at Ringwood Days last weekend. It is a class picture taken at the Ringwood school either in 1906 or 1907. Memberships were taken by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Holmes, Woodstoek; Harold P. Owen, McHenry and Gas do John W. Simpson of Crystal Lake. A Ringwood class picture, taken in 1907, was given to the society by Mr. Holmes and the teachers and most of the pupils were identified by Mrs. Vera Beatty Frey of Richmond, one of the pupils. There were seven or eight she could not identify and the society hopes to have these missing names supplied by others who might remember. The society's next project is the dedication of a bronze plaque to mark the memory of Samuel and Margaret Gillilan as the first white settlers COUNTY INVESTS $169,354 IN E-H BONDS IN JULY McHenry county residents purchased a total of $169,354 in series E and H United States savings bonds and Freedom Shares in July according to Donald J. Still, Woodstock,general county chairman of the savings bonds committee. Purchases in the state of Illinois were $30,715,595, according to Arnold J. Rauen of McHenry, state director of the Treasury department's savings bonds division. This is 2.1 per cent below the total for last July and accounts for 7.5 per cent of national sales which were $411,000,000. As of July 31 the dollar amount of savings bonds outstanding was $50.9billion. The Pioneer club of Algonquin will sponsor a pot-luck dinner at the church starting at 12:30 and the group will then adjourn in a body and attend the dedication.
