Marie McKim and this reporter supplied the refreshments. All the women complimented Louise Hammerstein on her school girl figure! Have you seen her lately? She looks marvelous. LUCKY 7-11 COMBINATION ON THE 13TH Carol and Tom Wunder are positively glowing with joy over their 7-11-13 luck! Their new little fellow, Tom Alexander, Jr., weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. rai Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7:20 p.m. at Mc- Henry hospital. Mama Carol started labor at 7 a.m. Li'l Tom measured 21 inches in length, a combination of 7, and the couple was married May 21, 1966! How's that for a series of co-incidences? Ecstatic material grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Brown of McCullom Lake and Chicago and the happy paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wunder of Chicago. We couldn't be happier for all the nice people involved. RECOVERING AFTER TWO' SURGICAL PROCEDURES Theresa Schultz is on the mend following the second of two operations at McHenry hospital last Friday. They were both necessary to eorrtct a condition that may possibly have been causing trouble for 23 years! The first was an angiogram and the second, a carotid endardectomy to increase the flow of blood to the brain. The cheery messages she has been receiving, have done a great deal for her morale. As of Monday, she had been moved to self-care and may possible be home, by this reading. PRESENTED AT THE FONT Brother and sister - Ellen and young Steve Huska, served as godparents for their tiijy cousin when Mary Therese Cunningham was christened last Sunday. The service was held Sunday at 1:45 p.m. in St. Patrick' s church, with Father Tierney officiating. The baby's parents are Dorothy and John Cunningham. In the afternoon, mama Dorothy served a buffet dinner for invited guests. Her menu included ham, potato salad, Aunt Jean's baked beans, and carrot cake. Guests included the godparents, their folks -- Theresa and Steve Huska, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kroncke of Lake moor, Theresa Cunningham, and Jean and Hugh McDonald. DIDN'T DO JUSTICE Thanks to A1 Kanak, we learned what a serpentine is. This was one of seven difficult maneuvers he had to execute with a semi to earn his trophy during his company's truck rodeo. Seems as though he had to weave between three barrels, strategically placed, then reverse and back up through them, on the other side! Mighty tricky, and he justly deserved his reward. FAMILY REUNION NUMBERS 110 A recent reunion of the Miller family brought out 110 members, and all were not present. Those from the village attending the soiree at the home of Theresa and Steve Huska on Pioneer Street off Route 31, included Dorothy and John Cunningham and their six, May and Butch Kennenberg, Theresa Cunningham, and Jean and Hugh McDonald. Each family brought a dish to share with others. COMEDY OF ERRORS It was real howl last Sunday, when the gals joined the fellas for a game of softball. Some, such as this reporter, had not played ball in over 10 years! Plenty of liniment was needed on Monday, for those sore muscles. The lineup included Lenny Jensen, Ginny Hocin and husband - Ted; Kathy Klapperich, Ed Caron; Joanne Branham; Dick White; Frank Branham; Alex Hocin and Nancy (?). Other team members were Peter John Klapperich; Diane Klapperich; Yogi Prather; Butch Stacknick; Gerry Jensen; A1 Kanak; Don Hayes; Arietta Cable; and Phyllis White. Team one was victorious by a score of 10-5, but we put up a good battle. There was word that Fireside has asked for a rematch and will play our fellows, Sunday afternoon at the beach.
