MCCULLOM LAKE NEWS EVE LEVES<IUE 385-4141 CLAYT NELSONS LEAVE VILLAGE FOR NEW HOME Alter 13 years of living in the village, Elsie and Clayt Nelson pulled up stakes last Sunday afternoon, and moved to Battle Creek, Mich. Originally, they came here from Evartsville, Ind., where they owned a faym and purchased the former Jerry Steinbach home in =1954. : During their residence here,; both were active in civic endeavors. Elsie was an active/ member of the Ladies of the Lake for many years, and Clayt ran for trustee of the village in 1957. He narrowly missed election. Elsie was also active in Zion Lutheran church, McHenry. Their garden of beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables indeed made their corner a show place. The two will be sorely missed. They leave their one son and family, the Earl Nelsons, but will be residing in the vicinity of two others. Last Saturday , Drs. Cliff and Don Nelson, together with their wives - Gladys and Marlene; Gladie's brother and son- The Masters, and another family friend were on hand with trailers and truck to move the Nelson gear. All arose about 6 o'clock Sunday morning and began the task of packing and loading. With tearful goodbyes to Elma, Earl and Don, the safari departed our shores about 1 p.m. for the toll road journey to Battle. Creek. The senior Nelsons fere now residing at 46 Maple Grove avenue, Battle Creek, Mich. Sincere best wishes for their happiness in their new location. O-OoooooH, MY ACHINGBA^K So goes Ray Aalto's lament following an accident at his place of employment recently. Ray fell and injured his back, but it was a week slater that he was forced to be taken to Victory Memorial hospital then subsequently removed to St. Therese's -- both inWaukegan. It was discovered , that he had fractured a vertebrae in the middle of his spine and was confined to "the hospital for several days. He was released for home convalescence but will be off from work for three months. He is wearing a steel brace which gouges his abdomen and almost makes him forget his aching back. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for a nicie guy. NEW RESIDENT HOSPITALIZED Mrs. Josephine Giosa who joined the village family last summer and hails from Michigan is having a bad time, health wise. She was confined several times since moving Tiere. She entered again, last Saturday, only to be returned home and then had to be re-admitted the same day. She lives at 5113 W. East lane but is a patient at McHenry hospital. She has married children in the Cary and Crystal Lake area, but we know she would be greatly cheered to receive cards from local people. It can be a very lonesome time, and we know our readers will co-operate. SERIOUS TRAVAIL Our deepest regrets for not announcing Eva Peisha's unfortunate accident. She was tripped by a dog, fell and broke her arm which has caused a great deal of pain and anguish. In spite of the fact that Eva is up in her golden years, she maintains a cheery outlook on life and even these catastrophes don't keep her down for long. Here's hoping her convalescence is about at an end, and that she once more can resume her many activities.
