The yearly affair sponsored by the Johnsburg Community club, which is their main source of income, is upon us. Next Saturday evening, Nov. 5, the officers and members of the club will be joining forces to make this event a most profitable one. AH the help (Mi this evening is strictly donated, from the bartenders right on through the kitchen help. The club needs your assistance to make this endeavor the success it is each year. If each club member and his wife would give just one hour out of this evening it would not be a strain on anyone person. Please, won't you help? Also, speaking of help, as usual, homemade pies are in demand for the dinner. Any woman who wishes to bake a pie or two for this evening, please contact either Marie Oeffling or Jackie Freund. This being their only moneymaking project for the year, the Johnsburg Community Club has invited their friends topartake in this evening of fun and exceptional food. DOUBLY BLESSED What a surprise Chuck and Nancy Majercik "had last Thursday morning. They became the parents of twin sons. Since only one baby was anticipated, this came as a shock to them as well as the doctor. Oct. 26 will be shared by Mark Allen and Michael Henry as their natal day in the years to come. The little men were* born at the Sherman hospital in Elgin and Mark weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz., while his brother weighed 4 lbs. 3oz. They have a big brother, Joey, who turned 14 months old on Nov. 2. So very, very proud of their newest grandsons are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Phillips of Wonder Lake. The young lads ara so lucky to have a great-grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Cuk of LaPorte, Ind. Mrs. Majercik is the former Nancy Weber. Our sincerest wishes to these happy people who were doubly blessed. AND NOW SHE IS THREE Young Debbie Sobiesk was honored with two parties in celebration of her third birthday recently. On the actual birthdate which was Oct. 25, her guests were her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sobiesk along with the Ralph Thompson family. The next day, her maternal grandparents, Bud and Rita Miller, joined in on the party fun. Also participating were Nancy Kay and John Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Freund, and Bill and,Lorraine Rutzen. Getting just as much out of the celebrating were Debbie's little brothers, Greg and Doug. CONGRATULATIONS CORNER Happy anniversary to Chuck and Nancy Majercik who observed their second wedding anniversary on Oct. 30. On Oct. 31 little Patty Bartman celebrated birthday number two, while a few days later her big brother, Jeff, Will have his third birthday. Sorry it's a little late, but happy birthday wishes to Joe D?hn on Oct. 25. On the same date, Walter and Millie Smith chalked up another year of marriage. They celebrated by having dinner out. They were very happy to have their son, Ronnie,; homo for a very short tim? just prior to the anniversary date. Ronnie, who with his wife resides in Colorado, was here to attend a meeting in Chicago. Many happy wishes to Jody Beutel who will be in line for the singing of the birthday song next woek when she turns three. Bob and Barbara Hettermann will celebrate wedding anniversary number six this Saturday, Nov. 4. On the fifth, Bob and Dolores Meyer observe anniversary number five. Much happiness to all the above people and we hope all their dreams come true. RESIDENT PASSES ON We of this community wish to extend our sincere sympathy to the surviving members of the Ma t Woolfe family. M\ Woolfe passed away in a Chicago hospital on Saturday after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday from St. John's church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Woolfe was well knowa in this area as he operated a mink ranch on Spring Grove road for many years. He is survived by his wife and a daughter among others. CLUB ASKS ASSISTANCE Recently members of the Johnsburg Community club received letters asking their aid in financial assistance of their club. Once a year these members are asked to help in "knocking down", so to speak the mortgage and interest. Along with that obligation, it also looks as though the club will have to get a new furnace which will run into a couple of thousand dollars. The club needs your support more than ever this year, so if you can help financially in any little way, please doift hesitate. ATTENDS D^DTCATION SERVICE RINGWOOD NEWS DOLORES BRENNAN 653-90^0 DEMONSTRATION SCHEDULED FOR CLUB BENEFIT The Community Club will sponsor a demonstration on Nov. 7, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the homo of Althea Walkington. This is an open party, with a column The Frank Sehmitt family, along with many of their friends from this area were present in the M'llburn Congretional church last Sunday to attend a memorial service. The dedication of the memorial was in honor of Mrs. Schmitt's la'e father, Edwin Denman. The late Mr. Denman's wife, three daughters, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were all present. The date was most significant in the Denman family. Had he lived, it would have marked the fiftieth wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Denman, as wr-11 as his birthday. all persons invited •)nd word of mouth. ci'B scgtrfs The Cub Scouts, Den O.ie from Ringwood won the attendance flag at the Pack meeting held on Oct. 24. This means that Den 1 had the most parents of Cub Scouts present. Members of the Dan are Tom Arsenau, Guy Garn, EricBetts, Craig Ackerman, Tom 0*Halleran and Tom Hopp. Den leader is Mrs. Mary Theis. For the Halloween show, they won first prize with Mrs. Theis acting the part of the witch with the boys as skeltois. Den 6, also from Ringwood also participated in the event. ORIENTATION MEETING THE 6TH Just a short reminder that on Nov. 6 there will be an oriental ion meeting held at the school for all leaders and coleaders of the Scouts. This is to begin at 7:30 p.m. SUCCESSFUL UNICEF DRIVE Thanks to all who helped in the success of the UNICEF drive last Sunday. Thanks tothe youngsters who did the collecting, to the drivers who took the youngsters to McCullom Lake, Wonder Lake and the rural Ringwood areas, and thanks to the ladies who prepared the supper for them.
