Americans "get the message" pretty quickly. Hut with the complexity of our highways and the different nature of our fifty states, it was necessary to enact legislation that would brins; together a uniform system of signs and signals. The medium of communication, in order to be truly effective, must he interpreted quickly and easily. There is such a law that service, rural delivery service and no outgoing mail. CLUB MEETS Members of her club met at the home of Mrs. Art Kattner on Thursday night. A dessert lunch was served and cards were played. Prizes went to Mrs. Arthur Klein, Mrs. Ed Hoffman and Mrs. Ray May. The club will meet next week at the home of Mrs. Norbert Klaus in Fox Lake. SPEED II will guarantee continuity of all traffic control safety devices. Maximum effort is beihg made by every state, county, and city to finish all work by the deadline date of December 31, 1968. There are five BASIC uniform control safety devices: Regulatory 6igns showing what you must do . . . stop, yield, etc. Warning signs alerting drivers to conditions ahead. Guide signs telling where you are going, routes and public information. Traffic signal lights are basic and pavement markers must be understood by every driver. For detailed information on signs and signals, plus other valuable data every driver should know, consult the all new. clearly illustrated Rules of the Road booklet. Study this text and learn the life signs of our times. Keep it in your car for handy reference. Your free copy of Rules of the Road can be obtained by writing to Paul Powell, Secretary of State, Springfield, Illinois, 62706. There's magic there for me. A pulse of excitement rides the autumn air and no matter what I'm doing, riding the bus on the avenue or browsing in a bookstore, I'm invigorated. I see exciting plays, visit art galleries and indulge in my love for museums. Shopping in large department stores intrigues my woman's heart. Each year I save some time to sit on a bench and watch the people go by. I return home refreshed for another year--determined to work harder at my typewriter and improve my work. I am inspired to perfect my craft. Church-going does the same thing for my inner life. An hour of meditation and worship sends me home with a fresh outlook and a firm resolve to reflect God's love more clearly in the coming week. I am inspired to perfect my life. Your church is the key to a full life. THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . . . . . A L L F O R T H E C H U R C H The Church is the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily.
