Guess our real pleasure was in seeing names of three Warriors on the list. Bob Mauch, a husky tackle, certainly showed all season that he belonged. Chuck Reilly, a fullback, could plow when his number was called and his ability is recognized by those who select the best. As we saw it, nobody enjoyed mixing it up more than Jim Laursen at guard. Others saw it the same way according to the list. There are more Warriors who must have been considered, but other teams have good men who catch the eye of rival coaches, players and fans. L. to R.: Bob Mauch, Jim Laursen, Chuck Reilly. These are the Warriors chosen on the North Suburban All-Star team. Back when his service started the staff was small and there was no delivery service in the city. Those were the days when ^everybody was a box holder ^and the Post Office was a great '{meeting place. World problems were settled in the lobby and Winkel was a great one to stir up controversy, for the old timers with time on their hands to thresh around. Certainly the horendous injury plague that struck the Warriors down in key positions hurt their chances for a real run at the roses, but the over-all team effort over the season was a stimulating sight for victory starved Warrior fans to watch. Seniors who saw their last football action for McHenry were: Martin, quarterback; Todd, halfback; Baur, halfback; Olesczuk, kicker; Reilly, fullback; Huska, fullback; O'Brien, center;' Laursen, guard; Vanek, guard; Domoto, guard; Moehling, tackle; Piccolo, tackle; Mauch, tackle; Cole, end; Fletcher, end; and Keuchel, end. These players formed the nucleus of what was basically a senior ball club. Juniors who saw a lot of action and helped the cause were Reinboldt, Neubauer, Jost, Owens, Antonicelli, and Janik. From this group coach Bill Day will have to work another winning formula next season. Assistants Ken Swanson, Bill Perry, and Bud Murray must be given credit for job well done, along with managers Dennis Buch and Terry Burton. With a winning football season under our belts, it won't be long now until Coach Ken Ludwig will trot out the 67-68 edition of Warrior basketball. Next week's columns will tout the North Suburban and discuss Warrior chances for the totcoming year. To the football team of 67, we say, well done, Warriors.
