PLAINDEALER PHOTO Churches Plan Rites On Holiday Family Services Will Be Held Thanksgiving McHenry churches tire planning special services for Thanksgiving, all of them rites which include the entire faitriiy. ST. PAUL'S EPISCOPAL A family, choral Eucharist is planned at 10 o'clock Thanksgiving morning at St. Paul's Episcopal church. The service is identical to that which takes place on Sunday. Realtors To Meet Nov. 27 William S. Allmart, member of the Real Estate Broker- Lawyer joint committee with the Illinois State Bar association, and "Realtor of the Year" for 1968 of the Illinois Association of Real Estate Boards, will discuss the Broker-Lawyer Accord at the Nov. 27 meeting of the McHenry County Board of Realtors, according to D.F. Tappan, president. The dinner meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Martinetti's, Crystal Lake, and will be an open meeting for all those engaged in the real estate business in McHenry county. Interested persons may cbntact Mr. Tappan. SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS Pastor Johnson will speak on "Thanksgiving and Thanks Living" at the 9 O'clock morning family worship service at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church. There will be special music by a male quartet. ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC At St. Patrick's Catholic church, Masses on the holiday will be held at 7 and 8 o'clock and again at 10 a.m. ZION LUTHERAN The children and women's "choirs will sing for the 9 o'clock Thanksgiving service at Zion Lutheran church, to which the entire family is invited. A visiting pastor, Rev. W.A. Baumann of Rockford, will conduct the service and deliver the sermon. ALLIANCE BIBLE The . Alliance Bible church will hold a 9:30 o'clock service of thanksgiving, which is a family worship service, on Thanksgiving day. The new pastor, Rev. Gerald L. Robertson, will officiate. METHODIST-PRESBYTERIAN Continuing an annual custom, the Community Methodist church and the Faith Presbyterian church will join together for a Thanksgiving day service of praise. The service will be held at the Faith Presbyterian church, corner of Chapel Hill and Lincoln roads, on Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. The service will be led by Mr. Mclntyre and the sermon, entitled: " Thanksgiving: Thanks-living", will be delivered by Mr. White. The combined senior choirs of both (Continued on page 3) Motorists Hurt Seriously In Auto Crashes Three Wonder Lake youth were seriously injured in a onecar accident which occurred at the intersection of Hiawatha drive and Lake Shore drive in the early hours of Sunday morning. All were admitted to McHenry hospital for treatment. The injured were Charles F. Gale of 5108 Hilltop drive, who suffered extensive lacerations of the neck and scalp; James A. Marke of 7624 South drive, possible fractured ankle and spine, and lacerations of the head; and Donald B. Burns of 7617 Beach road, fractured right leg and left humerus. The driver told sheriffs deputies he failed to make a curve and the car left the road on the right side, striking a tree. A car driven by John Bonder of 306 W. Northlake, Lakemoor, left the pavement, travelled into a ditch and rolled over about 11:45 Saturday evening. Village President Bonder told deputies he was driving east on the highway when another car, west-bound drove into his lane. He swerved to avoid a head-on collision and the car left the road. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rogers of 306 W. Lily Lake road, McHenry, were seriously hurt in a one-car accident which occurred on Griswold Lake road, at Rt. 176, Friday afternoon. Mrs. Rogers was driving and was (Continued on page 3) f '• ' mry K Of C Coi To Celebrate 60th Year In Youth Exchange Program It may be a bit difficult to find an immediate reason for the man of the family togivethanks this Thursday, but the lady of the house can recall them in good number, particularly if she is the cook. They range, literally, from "soup to nuts." Quickly we recall such items as cleaned, dressed, ready for the oven turkey... Prepared mashed potatoes and dressing... Canned gravy... Frozen or canned cranberry sauce... Prepared pie crusts and canned pie filling... We can't think of much reason for anyone to ruin that holiday feast unless it might be poor coffee. Even then, if we watch the TV commercials we can learn, on almost an hourly bases, clues on how to remec^y the festive beverage. Come to think of it, the gentleman of the house can be grateful that although he may have chosen that cute trick over the gal with a bit of magic in the kitchen, he still may come through with an A-l Thanksgiving dinner through the wonders of modern science. The unit will be located on the south side of the Court House and will be in operation from 12:30 to 5 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone 18 years of age or older may avail himself of this opportunity to have a free chest x-ray. Children under 18, with a positive reaction to the tuberculin skin test, may also be x-rayed. The mobile x-ray is sponsored by your contributions to the Christmas Seal campaign which is now in progress. Father Lee Ambre of Crystal Lake is planning an interesting program centered on the missions, with a presentation of slides of the Eeruvian missions.
