The social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30. The former State Treasurer will outline how he "can best be of service to the Republican party and the state of Illinois as Attorney General", according to Tom Davis of McHenry, president of the Tri-County club. Scott, who had been mentioned as a possible gubernatorial candidate, announced earlier this month that he would rather serve as Attorney-General. He pointed to the growing breakdown in law and order and the need to protect the rights of the private citizen. While serving under Robert Tieken as special assistant United States attorney for the northern district of Illinois in 1959, he conducted a federal crackdown on crime-syndicate vice and gambling operations. Tickets are available by PLAN AHEAD FOR HOSPITAL ANNUAL MEETING Two matters of immediate interest confront citizens of the McHenry area--a big territory since it concerns McHenry hospital. The 1968 membership dues for the McHenry Hospital corporation, the official governing body that directs the hospital, should be paid soon, George P. Freund, president, said this week. Also moving into the limelight is the annual meeting of the association since the date for it has been set by the board directors for Saturday night, Feb. 3, at the McHenry country club. The two events are of parallel interest because a membership in the association is required to be eligible to vote at the«annual meeting, Freund explained. In addition, the $10 membership includes the annual dinner at no extra cost. All citizens of the area are welcome to join to support the work of the hospital with a member ship that indicates interest in this community- wide servant and concern with the policies established to guide the hospital. The new hospital buildings opened for service in June, 1966. Rooms were opened as needed and as help was atjuired. Today, all 132 beds are in use, and the occupancy rate has been rising noticeably, Anthony Corcoran, administrator, reports. A year ago, the occupancy was 66.2 per cent. Today it is 82 percent, indicating the heavy demands on the hospital's facilities and its medical and nursing staffs. "The higher occupancy level reflect the growth of the McHenry area," continued Corcoran. Freund said the goal is to have the association membership drive completed by December 31. Persons may send their checks for each membership to the McHenry Hospital Corporation, McHenry Hospital, McHenry, 111., 60050. k When selecting a gift foj/ .. . let us help! One farm vehicle with 5,000 excess pounds was driven down a state highway in a northern county, Supt. William H. Morris of the Illinois State Police, stated. "We are certain that operators know the limits of their vehicles and we are asking them to obey the weight laws," Morris said.
