Needless to say, this is a most worthwhile cause. The public is cordially invited to come in and browse around. Who knows there may be several answers to your Christmas gift list. All of the articles on sale are hand made. The sale will take place in the hall of the Federal Savings and Loan on Green street. GRANDMA ONCE AGAIN Mrs. Mamie King became a grandmother for the fourth time son, Gene, and wife, Eileen, welcomed a daughter at the McHenry hospital on Nov. 20. Little Diane Marie weighed a petite, but healthy 6 lbs. 14 oz. at birth. The Kings other children are Steve, 14, Mary Ellen, 13, and JimiHy, 5. All three are delighted with, their new sister. The new baby has another grandmother, Mrs. Rena Smith of McHenry. Between the two grandmothers Eileen and Diane Marie are getting lots of attention and help. Our congratulations to all on the blessed event. ON THE GO Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith were most happy to have the Robert Smeltzer family as their guests on a recent Sunday. On Thanksgiving Day, the Smiths were entertained in the Bill Zimmermann home in Rockford. The Smiths planned to spend several days there visiting friends and relatives. They also celebrated their wedding anniversary on Nov. 24. Belated happy wishes to them. NUMBER THREE SON FOR THE NETTS Michael Jay Nett made his worldly appearance in the McHenry hospital on Friday, Nov. 24. His parents, A1 and Carol, are most pleased with his masculine build, which measures 20% inches. His birth weight was 8 lbs. 2 oz. Michael will join his parents, and two older brothers very shortly and take up residence on Mehring avenue in Jak-Ana Heights. All the happiness possible is wished to this very nice family. HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING The Jeppe Jepsen home was a busy, busy place on Thanksgiving Day. Friends and relatives totaling over forty came from Elmwood Park, Libertyville, Highland Park, Lake Villa to make the holiday so memorable. The Jepsens' children and their families were also present. To make the day even more happy, their nephew and family from Chanute Air Base along with Bruce Christiansen and his friends from Kansas and Doctor Laftt from ,MCHe6ry. Guests over the holiday at the Hakon Christiansen home were Gale Yarrow and Dave Cassing from Kansas and John Lewis of Champaign. On Saturday, they all attended the wedding of a former college mate, Jack Henningson at Park Ridge. Mrs. Christiansen and Doctor Lane also participated. Our home was buzzin* on the holiday also. Some twenty-two immediate family members were present for dinner and a few more dropped in later. Mrs. Emil Debrecht spent several days with her daughter and family in New York. Mx& Maiy Hettermann and her family spent the day with her family in the Jim Thompson home in McHenry. Route 12 Fox Lake of Marengo spent Sunday afternoon visiting their aunts, Catherine and Barbara Althoff. In the evening they called on another aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Tonyan. Our family joined the Roger - Pechous family on Tuesday evening for dinner near Richmond in a belated celebration of Roger and Gloria's fifteenth wedding anniversary. Just a small reminder as there will be more written in detail later that the Blessed Virgin Sodality will hold its annual Christmas party on Dec. 12 at 6:30 in the community club hall. Be fVise Shop In McHenry SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL BEGIN ON DECEMBER 3 The Sunday school will begin on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Ringwood Methodist church, at 11 a.m. All interested parents are asked to bring their youngsters. GIRL SCOUTS The Girl Scouts meet on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Ringwood school. Last Wednesday, the meeting was started with the salute to the flag. The pos sibility of going on a hike on Dec. 2 was discussed. Donna and Cynthia Gay were introduced as new members. Then the election for troop scribe and treasurer, followed by the playing of games. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Blackmon were married at the Presbyterian Community church in Morton Grove on Thanksgiving day. Charles and Roger Tonyan attended the International Livestock Exposition in Chicago's Amphitheater on Friday, with Mr. Rosslo, the Ag teacher at McHenry high. This annual institute is a work and study seminar for those actively engaged in the real estate profession and is attended by brokers and salesmen from all over Illinois. From the McHenry office, Mrs. Bonnie Segerstrom and Mrs. Nancy Curry will be attending Course I. SALES MANAGER John M. Kent, son of Mrs. Julia Kent of McHenry, has been named sales manager for the Hart-Advance Relay division of Oak Electron-netics Corp. He will headquarter in Wisconsin. The former McHenry man is a graduate of DePaul university and holds a BA degree in journalism. Ken resides in Crystal Lake with his wife, Vivian, and three children. OIL POOLS EXTENDED Four extensions to oil pools were discovered in Illinois in October. In Richland county, the D.H. Runyon N. 1 A. Shan well was completed for an ititial production of 38 barrels of oil per day. Production was extended three quarters of a mile to the north in Wabash county with the completion of the Pointer Oil Co. No. 1 Hinderliter well for an initial production of five barrels of oil per day. THREE LOCAL YOUNG MEN HURT IN CAR ACCIDENT Charles Gale, 5108 Hilltop drive, James Marke, 7624 South drive, and Don Burns, 7617 Beach drive were injured Sunday, Nov. 19, in a car accident at 4711 E. Lake Shore drive. They were taken to the McHenry hospital. KIWANIS CLUB Messrs. Jim Bates, Nelson Stork, Orville Kerns and Rev. Stanley Beck of Woodstock Kiwanis club paid a visit Monday, Nov. 20. It was fitting that the other McHenry County KiWanis club fathered hy Wonder Lake (McHenry) chose the same night to put in an appearance. McHenry Kiwanis present were: Jim Spencer, Robert Ort, Clint Claypool, Virgil Pollock and Donald Heldt. Don Heldt served a dual purpose as he also happens to be business manager of School district No. 156. He presented the program of the evening - an appeal to help support the high school referendum on Dec. 16. Gordy Gran's frau won the battle ax award. NATIVITY LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS Women of the church (LCW) meeting Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. will pertain to materialism and Christmas called "The Gifting Christmas" and there will be a dollar gift exchange. Saturday, Dec. 9, has been designated the date of the fifteenth anniversary banquet to be held at the new American Legion hall in McHenry. The guest speaker will be Dr. Robert Marshall, president of the Illinois Synod. Dr. Marshall is known throughout the country for his excellent speaking ability. Th& first Pastor of the congregation, Rev. Burton Schroeder, will also be present at the banquet. Tickets for the anniversary are still available but will not be sold at the door, the night of the banquet. TRAFFIC DEATHS October traffic deaths totaled 207, according to provisional reports released today hy the Division of Highways and the State Highway Police. This is a decrease of 19 per cent from the 255 reported in the same months last year. Late reports and delayed deaths have increased the August total to 258 and increased the September total to 329. The death toll for the first 10 months, which now stands at 2,020, represents a decrease of three percent from the 2,075 for the same period during 1966.
